I wonder who wrote the dialog for him? No wonder it took ages for him to come up with a decent explanation.

Maybe, but why since he did so well in midfield? Did he used to play as a striker or something? I thought he was attacking mid.

I remember Anderson playing as a striker at Porto, if I remember correctly....

Nah, he always played as an attacking mid here, not as a classic striker... It was Ferguson who adapted to more box-to-box duties...

Imagine

-------Tevez -- Rooney--------
Anderson ----------- Ronaldo

-----Carrick ------ Hargreaves

I mean when I heard you signed Anderson i was looking forward to him scaring defenses around the country.

I'll admit from the impressions I had and the footage I'd seen, Anderson looked like a "Ronaldinho" type player - but he has shown a side to his game that was previously hidden and he is an excellent centre/attacking midfielder and probably Scholes' long term successor. When he hits that first goal, I'm sure he'll explode into a free scoring player like Scholes was. I've read he thinks his favourite position is on the wing though.

Good news, Sir Alex says Wayne Rooney trained today, and he could be fit for Newcastle.
Nani will not miss Sunday's game - his ban is League matches only so he will therefore miss the first two. Fergie also said Hargreaves and Neville are nearing fitness too.

whilst rafael has been making such an impression in the first team his twin brother fabio has struck back with quite a strike for the reserves...

Paulo Da Silva

Starting XI
I watched all of anderson's games for Porto, although he is a #10 he played as a winger/ left forward for porto most of the times.

Something like this was the attack:

Quaresma Anderson
---------Lisandro----------

So he can play the wing and he can do it well. Although his best games were when he played as an attacking centre mid with full freedom like the Benfica game where he was winning the game single handedly until Katsouranis blindsided him when he didnt have the ball and broke his foot.

I have tried to follow his career at Man Utd (i must say the transfer caught me as a surprise) as i think this kid has best in teh world potential...and I must say that whatever Ferguson has planned for him is worrying me. HE IS NOT A BOX-to-BOX player. HE CANT TACKLE FOR ****...dont say he cant cuz he just cant. It pained me many times to watch Carrick play more up field than Anderson. I really hope Ferguson plays him in his natural position as a #10 or winger and allow him to flourish. for some reasons all centre mids in england must know how to tackle and be box to box, which is unfortunate.

Examples are layers like Fabregas who plays behind the strikers for Spain national teams but as a box to box midfielder for Arsenal. Albeit he is doing amazingly he really struggles on the defensive end.

Players that were attacking centre mids like Rosicky and Hleb where forced to play on tehwing for arsenal on many nights which i believed has not allowed them to fully flourish. Lets see how Barca plays Hleb.

I still trust Ferguson as his player development is second to none, but if i see a midfield with Carrick attacking more than Anderson i think im just gonna stop watching Man Utd games for fear of watching one of the best of not the best Attacking prospect in the world be stymied by the british style of play.

I think this guy can make you forget about the ungrateful Ronaldo.

Cheers

Team Captain
Anderson owned Fabregas the three times they met. He has the physicality to play in the Premiership and yes he hasnt scored yet but once he starts scoring, they will come a la Fabregas. And Carrick and Anderson in the middle was our most potent midfield pairing last season. He didn't perform that well in the last few weeks of the season because he was obviously fatigued.

I got the feeling that next year we will trade Ronaldo for van der Vaart.

VdV used to be linked with us before moving to Hamburg, and personally I think he is a genius and has better football IQ than Ronaldo. But what Ronaldo lacks in the non-technical department he is better than VdV in the technical terms.

I still remember having this same feeling when we signed Veron some years ago.

I'm quite positive that Ronaldo will leave next summer. Ferguson has a very big ego and he had to hold on to Ronaldo this year to preserve his ego. The problem is that if we sold him, then we would create a very dangerous situation where 4 of our star players went to Real in the last 6 years. It was absolutely vital to show that we don't sell no matter at what price, when we don't want to.

I'm glad that Fergie decided to buy a striker before end of August though, here is to hoping that it will be Berbatov.

Economically that will suck for you guys, VdV was bought on the cheap this season and id say by the end of this season if someone where to try and buy him from Real his price would be triple.

With Carrick, Hargreaves and Anderson around and Scholes still having about 3 more season in him, i highly doubt that we will be looking to get Van der Vaart any time soon.

I didn't mean a direct buy out, a trade is more likely. VdV for Ronaldo ? Not a bad deal at all. For Madrid, Ronaldo is much more a merchandise seller than VdV, and we all know how Madrid likes to treat their players like **** when money from merchandising comes to mind, remember how they kicked out Hierro and del Bosque to sign DB just to out-sell United's jerseys sales in Asia ? And for the fans, up until now, we probably still wondering whether the kid will give his 100% like last season, for next season, we can not afford the risk of having a player who is unmotivated, especially the most influential one...

That's what I'm talking about..

We win the Community Shield again, on penalties again. 3-1. Our lack of firepower right now is showing though.
