You fellow Americans heard about the good news? What,What you ask...(H)

Naw, just that Jose Francisco Torres, CM for Pachuca, accepted an invitation few days ago to come and play for the US NT. If any of you guys have watched any Pachuca games I suggest you start watching them if that's not the case. What can I say he's young, talented, and will probably be a great not good but great player.

Sven called him after he heard the news but it was too late, the kid told him he had made a decision.

Booohh the US and their terrorist tactics for kidnapping Mexican-American kids. :(

I was too into the MLS playoff race to even realize that the CCL was going on. Crew are the Supporter Shield winners :33vff3o: (now time to crash in burn in the playoffs like all SS winners do :(. 2002 is the last time that the SS winner won it all).

BTW massive game this Saturday on FSC at 9PM. If RSL win then they are in with a game to spare. If Dallas win then they take over as the front runners for the last spot in the West. If it's a draw then it's gonna be decided on the last day of the season. I can't wait for that game!

Torres has looked good so far. You guys also missed out on Orozco, who looks to be a pretty good defender. I wouldn't be surprised if both of these guys play a role for us in 2010.

Dallas, Toronto, LA and San Jose officially eliminated from playoff contention after this week.

Columbus, Hoston, Chicago, New England and Chivas are already in. RSL plays Colorado on the road and it's basically a must win for both teams (although RSL could also get in with a draw if other results help them out). The game is live on HDNet too.

I love how FSC and Telefutura are showing completely meaningless games when there are games to be played that will basically decide playoff spots. Flexible scheduling MLS?

No, that would be too logical. After all, the TV contracts are in place for one reason only: to show Beckham and the alleged "Superteam" as often as possible.

Of course.

How do you expect MLS to do something like that when they're Carlos*ing off everytime Davy Becks puts foot to ball?

Actually, RSL gets in with a draw regardless of other results. The top three teams in each conference get in automatically this season. (This was a rule change introduced to help the Gals make the playoffs, didn't work out obviously.)

I would prefer it if RSL made it, their fans deserve it. I was also pulling for DC and Toronto in the east (mostly for the same reason) but it looks like it's going to be NYRB and the Wizards instead. *yawn*

Chicago 5-2 Red Bull NY

Man, I haven't seen a bunch of New Yorkers take a beating like that since...

...no, I can't say it. Too soon. It takes 22.3 years for something tragic to become funny (according to South Park).

I want to have Chris Rolfe's children. Three goals (one of them spectacular), two assists (one of them spectacular). He had a hand in all five goals. Single finest game I've seen by any player in MLS this season (though Lando had one or two brilliant ones as well). I don't care what kind of money he's asking for, f*cking re-sign him already! Rolfe deserves a pay raise, he's easily been the most underpaid MLS player of the past 4-5 years.

Osorio... that's what you get for leaving Chicago. Oh, I suppose a DC United collapse could still bail you out, but chances are you'll be the latest in a long line of illustrious coaches to fail at NY/NJ MetroBulls. Traitor.

Chicago vs. Dead Bulls this season: 3 wins, 0 ties, 0 losses, 11-3 aggregate result. Sweet, sweet revenge.

Recent history of the Chicago Fire in the MLS playoffs:

2005: Lost to New England in the Eastern Conference final.
2006: Lost to New England on penalties in the Eastern Conference semifinal.
2007: Lost to New England in the Eastern Conference final.
2008: Will lose to New England in the Eastern Conference semifinal.

Usually, the Fire's season ends in Foxborough, but this year, we've decided to let your own fans see the end of the Fire's road to MLS Cup for themselves.

This is the first post-season in a while where I actually like Chicago's chances against the Revs. This might be the weakest New England team since Nicol took over, and the strongest Chicago Fire team since 2003.

Still, New England are a tough team that knows how to win in the playoffs. It's not always pretty, but Nicol knows how to get it done. It's going to be very tight. If it wasn't for Ralston's injury, I'd give the edge to the Revs. Now, I don't know.

No way the Revs beat Chicago this year. Ralston is their heart and soul and they're nowhere near the same team without him.

Who thinks that Columbus will go all out against DC to try and win so they don't have to face them in the playoffs?
