THAT's because he didn't revamp the entire team 1 season. also the project mac city are starting will encourage superstars to join man city cause itll give them a chance to play with other superstars that they may want to have a chance to play with.

i would certainly would like to be 1 of the key players that turned a club from a mid table to a top club in world. it'll evolve them as a player ad make them better. as they would have to play harder and work harder and train harder.

"clubs have to want to sell players" not neccesarily if say city offer 100+million for kaka milan can easily use that cash to lure 2-3 other world class players to milan. so as it would be alot easier for them to join milan than city. thus in the end being alot better for them to sell 1 player and get 2-3 players close to that 1 players skill level

I see where you're coming from mate but you're last point doesn't work. If City sign Kaka for 100 million then Milan are selling because they want to. In that situation they would prefer to sign 2-3 others and let Kaka go, so at the end of the day he's leaving because they are happy to let him go for that price, and want whatever the alternative to Kaka is.

And I only made the point about Abramovich because I got the impression that you were expecting a load of signings and a sudden jump up the league table. City could still find it harder than Chelsea did though, as they were finishing 4th and still in a CL spot, which is where the top players want to be playing. Not all top players want to wait for City to get there, although money will tempt a few I should imagine. Besides most business is done in the summer, and it could take until then to see how much the owner is willing to spend.

Damien Duff- looks like PES 2009 CL mode, and on the PC judging by the editing of the captain's armband. But possibly a next gen console as I think you can use a camera and do it on the 360.

I prefer you stop soiling this thread, you infidels!

Basically, nobody expected City to win the league in the 1st season. But nobody expected us to be in the bottom half of the table with the squad we have now. Even before the Arabs took over and Robinho came, we had a solid squad which should be competing for a UEFA Cup spot. I'm optimistic, if we can just have a strong 2nd half, we could jump up and finish in the top half and look forward to next season. If we beat Pompey, whenever we play them, we jump to 11th from 15th.

Senior Squad
^ You have the squad but think about it, you're missing 2 very key players from last season in Elano and Petrov. I don't know if Elano has simply gotten lazy or if Hughes just doesn't play him for some stupid reason but he was very important for you last season and you haven't replaced him. Petrov was instrumental as well but he's been injured.

city its playing with a crappy midfield. hamman wtf?? kompany WTF! he is an exelent central defender. use fernandes and elano with ireland and SWP in the wings and you guys will won the CL just like i do.

Petrov was arguably our biggest threat when he was healthy, but I don't see how he and Robinho can play in the same starting XI...

GK: Hart
DL: Bridge
DC: Dunne/Richards
DC: Kompany
DR: Zabaleta
DM: New Signing
ML: Petrov
MR: SWP
AM: Ireland
FW: Robinho
ST: Sturridge/Benjani/Bojinov/New Signing

That's all I can really think of right now. I'd try to sell Micah while he's still worth something and move Kompany back to centreback since his passing isn't exactly excellent to be playing a midfield role and sign a new DM. Dunne can finish the season as his partner but this should be his last on the team to be honest, cant stand to see him anymore. Onouha might be going to PSG apparently, Michael Johnson should be leaving soon as well since he's always injured and rumour is he's not exactly taking it very well (been out late and drinking a lot, put on some weight apparently).

To conclude, this team's a mess right now. We need to offload a lot of players, starting with Micah or Onouha, Jo and Johnson.

Why would you want to sell Micah? Keep in mind i havent watched City games but I always thought he was a solid player or maybe its just FM

Elano's not gonna be in the starting line-up anytime soon with the way he's been bitching and moaning. Expect him to go to Italy til the end of the season fairly soon.

He's been awful this season, along with Dunne, hence our amazing defensive record in the EPL. Sources also say he's getting a bit on the chubby side, which is hard to believe because I always believed Micah was some sort of specimen carved out of pure black gold.

and Mus, you're probably right, there won't be any big name signings, but I'm hoping we can make a few solid signings to get us through the season (Cambiasso anyone?)
