Bolivia 6-1 Argentina.

That is not a joke. :|

Good lord. Nice job, Diego. Now blame the altitude.

The funny part was that Maradona had recently played a match with Evo Morales in support of playing in La Paz (FIFA wanted to ban it). [irony]Good job Diego!(Y)[/irony]

We apologize for keeping the yellow too long

Maradona or Maddona?
Could obviously be the latter one.....

At first I thought it as an April Fool's joke too... so much for showing Riquelme who's boss! As an aside, Honduras beat Mexico 3-1. You should know that Mexico used to be practically invincible in CONCACAF until the US caught up to them and started scoring regular victories. There will be increased calls for the head of Sven after this...

6-1, and it really could have been a lot more, I'm sure even the Argies agree with that.

If it wasn't for the goalie, it could have been 12-1

What a shocking result!
And to think that Bolivia are 2nd last in Sth. America!!!

And this might just have kept their qualification chances alive.

Is Maradona on the hot seat now, or does his status keep him safe for a little while?

I think he is still safe for now, as this is his first loss (albeit a huge one).

Anyways it was funny today to hear what the players had to say before taking their return flights back to Europe. You could tell that all the players were trying to say that it was very hard to play in the altitude, but they couldn't really say it since Maradona had already said that the altitude was a non-factor. Messi for example said "for me personally, it is impossible to play in the altitude" and then continued by saying "But that is not an excuse, everyone has to play there". It was just funny to hear these mixed messages since they obviously could not contradict what their "boss" had already said before the match.
