Ruben De La Red from Real Madrid is in the same situation now. He is just 24, but he will probably never play again and he intends to be a coach/teacher for the Real Madrid academy.

So sad to see Juanpi retiring. I was reallly hoping he could get past all the injuries....
Anyways he's one the greatest players I've seen playing for Cruzeiro.
