Just wanted to say that i absolutely LOVE that Nacional has started the trend in S. America of putting "Cups" instead of stars. In this case, intercontinental/world club titles.

Basically the president of Nacional (about 2 years ago) started to note how nearly EVERY CLUB ON EARTH has stars. Stars are supposed to be very meaninful things. Yet unlike in the national level (where FIFA regulates stars ,based on World Cups/championships) clubs can do whatever they want.

*thank god FIFA regulates it, or else Mexico would probably put 6 stars for their Gold Cup wins :rofl:

EX- Rangers, inexplicably has 4 stars , for every 10 league titles they won.
This is worth as much as putting 1 star for every 10 derbies you win (which is basically what winning the Scottish Premier league is :S) :clapwap:

Apparently many teams in Brazil have taken a liking to the idea, and Boca Juniors stated a few weeks ago that they are considering putting 3 intercontinentals on their jerseys starting in 2011 *on the show Estudio Futbol.

Also it's a great conversation starter. Other day I was playing footie with a few guys wearing jerseys. No one would ask people about the stars on the DC united jersey, even the Al-Ahly jersey (has a bunch for their Champions League titles).
But they saw 3 "Cups" and immediately people started to go beside me to ask "What are the cups for"? Great attention getter. :)
