The problem is we have 100 midfield at the moment and Fergie loves all of them so nobody will come anytime soon.

First, it's very hard to be a football fan in Australia, you should live like an owl in weekends.

There was a football discussion about United - Arsenal match and they mentioned a very good point. They said United should play with a formation like Chelsea against top and european teams.

In that case Fletcher, Carrick, Anderson (Scholes) and hopefully Hargreaves will play at the middle. that will build a good barrier against opponent midfield and it will let Full Backs like Evra and Oshea to do more attacking activities. Also, a player like Nani, Park or Anderson will play behind Rooney and Berbatov. I think that formation is far better than Fergie's 4-5-1 which he used agianst Barca and Arsenal. Take a look at this

Van Der Sar (Foster
Rafael (Oshea) - Rio (Evans/Brown) - Vidic - Evra

Hargreaves (Fletcher)
Carrick (Anderson) - Fletcher (Scholes)
Park (Nani/Giggs/Anderson)

Berba-Rooney

In that system Fletcher or Hargreaves will cover full backs when they are in attack. Against average and weak teams that classic 4-4-2 looks effective.

As you (Mikey) mentioned, I think Sneijder could be perfect for us. I think Van Der Vart will perform well if he comes as well. But none of those will never happen.

Meanwhile, Hargreaves will come back from USA in a month and Fergie said he's going to use him "softly softly".

so what do you think?

You don't have a good enough right back for that formation. Neville can't do all that running, Brown is more defensive-minded, and O'Shea is a utility player, he can't do what being the only man on the wing requires of you. And Rafael/Fabio (whichever) is way too young to be a starter.

Also, who would you play in the AMC position? Anderson is the only guy who would really thrive there, and that's assuming he can still play there like he did before he came to United. Other than that, Scholes would play better in the CM spots, as would Fletcher and Carrick. Giggs might be able to, but how many games can you get out of him? Rooney could adapt to the position, but you'd playing him ut of his element.

It's been said from the starty of the season that ManU needs more width, not less of it.

your points are right, but our 4-5-1 is very creepy. Playing with one forward and two wide wingers is not good at all.

Help?

Who told them that Chelsea's diamond formation is effective against the top teams? From what i saw, Chelsea only played United with that formation from the best teams and they got overran in the first 45 minutes. 1. Like Mandieta6 said, we don't have the players for that, Evra might do that on the left, but Rafael is the only one that would be capable of playing with that formation on the right and he is still too young and inexperienced to have so much responsibility. 2. Chelsea are yet to prove that its effective themselves.

That clip actually clearly shows that there was some contact from the keeper.

When? Before or after Flipper is going down?... Let me answer it for you. Before any contact with the keeper Rooney kicks the ball out of bounds and decides to fall down diving, hence why his knees bend down and begin to drag. He goes down sliding on his knees.

Yeah, that's clearly visible, but still contact would've been made had Rooney stayed up. Almunia just timed his dive bad. But comparing this to Eduardo, this is a definite pen.

A bit weird to call Rooney Flipper, whiles Eboue was the winner of dives yesterday. Rooney's one is debatable, but nevertheless more of a penalty then Eduardo's. There was contact.....Even ex-Arsenal player, Lee Dixon, said that it was a penalty and that it was stupid from Almunia to come off his line...

lol how can you even talk about such things Tawalkana. safer to keep your mouth closed then have us bring up the fact that eduardo had a match ban for the dive of the century and Eboue booked for diving again. Guess we can start calling your team 'arseover'.

Oh, I checked on Madrid on Sky, those cheeky sods at the Bernabeau have nicked our "Viva Ronaldo" song! Not that we'll be singing it at Old Trafford anytime soon - he's not remembered with fondness given the manner of his departure.

Hes actually been speaking very positively of united recently.

"The only thing I am not happy about in my final year was that we could not win the Champions League final again but I did all I could for Manchester United.

"I appreciate that United accepted to let me go and I think that I ended my time at the club in the best possible way.

Ronaldo says he left Old Trafford with Alex Ferguson's blessing and the United boss even shared a joke with the forward, who spent six seasons in Manchester.

He added: "He said 'congratulations'. I think he knew it was the right time for me to move on and I think he acknowledged that I needed to go.

"He joked with me and told me that with all the offensive players at Real Madrid, I'd end up playing as a central defender.

"That was just his way of saying 'good luck, son'. I did not get a chance to say goodbye to the fans but I hope they know that I enjoyed every moment playing at Old Trafford.

"I would like to thank them. Even in the most difficult times I always felt their support."

He said: "I want to win them both, win everything. Why choose one?

"I have won the Champions League with Manchester United and I still believe that it is the biggest tournament there is to win in all club competitions.

"But I have always admired the Spanish league and dream of winning it one day. When I retire I want to look back and say that I have won both English and Spanish titles, the Champions League and hopefully more international titles."

"I don't think anyone can look at my recent years at United and say that I did not do my best.

"Even after I was close to Real Madrid last year and stayed at United, I was focused in giving everything I had in me.

"We won the championship for the third year in a row and reached the second Champions League final in two years."

Are you saying I can't mention Cantona or Best in this thread? Well, that sucks. :p

they were our legends, not Cristiano. If he loved United, he could never leave. Mention Zola or ... in your own thread. I don't have any problem with that.(Y)

Stop acting like scolded girlfriends. You're just proving how much he matters to you by giving his name that much importance. He's worse than Voldemort around these parts.

Players leave, get used to it. Not every player is going to retire in your team.

It's a bit hard to get used to it as an United fan. Most of our legends retired with our shirt or we sold them at the end of their career.
