i hope nani at least makes an appearance against west ham. Its pretty worrying. He didnt even play midweek. Hes got alot of potential and im willing to give him time. And about tosic..he plays for the serbian national team but hardly gets a sniff in united's 1st team. always playin in the reserves.

Personally I find the whole criteria for a work permit stupid. If a club wants to employ a guy, and the wages will be subject to tax - where's the problem?

You don't discriminate like this in other industry sectors, so why in football?

Anyway, another 3:00 kickoff and while traditional, it's bad news for us English based United fans as there is no live TV coverage. And Radio5 is so biased (I'm looking at you Alan Green)

Still at least I get the full 90 on Sunday night.

Oh, they don't? I've been trying to find a way to move to England for years, and guess what, I haven't. Work permits are really hard to get.

If you ant another example of this sort of thing, an EU student pays 3000 pounds for tuition, an international pays 10000.

To be fair, I didn't know about that. But the point is as long as it's for legal work which will contribute the correct tax - I can't see why there's an issue. But then the Governments aren't renowned for common sense.

As for the Nani point, I suspect his recent demotion is meant as a swift kick up the backside.

What a goal by Gibson! 3 goals in 2 games. Nice goal by Scholes as well.

EDIT: Valencia! 5th goal of the season. And Wayne Rooney with his 11th goal in the epl. cross from Valencia.

Kuszczak's celebration was hilarious!

Great performance from us...Valencia is starting to turn into a monster, with a good head on his shoulders. His hunger for goals is growing....Carrick did well als CB, I wonder how the defence will look like against Wolfsburg, cause the situation is getting worrying, Neville and Brown both went of injured, Evra had to play CB with Carrick for the last couple of minutes. Maybe we will see De Laet in starting eleven against Wolfsburg and Chester on the bench.....

Help?

Fan Favourite
Are the twins injuried? De Laet has to play against Wolfsburg. Can't believe we played with 5 central midfielders for most of the game and finished with just one defender. Great win though, although West ham didn't put up much of a fight. Maybe Ferguson isn't really too keen on Ljalic cause he sees a lot of potential in Gibson? That was another great goal from him today.

Guys Chelsea lost! The gap is now down to 2 points :D

EDIT:
Fergie:
“I don’t know how we’re going to get a back four together for Tuesday. I’m hoping Nemanja will be OK and I will probably play Michael Carrick with him in defence.”

If Vidic is not back I wonder who will play alongside Carrick. Today we ended the game playing Giggs at left back, Evra and Carrick at centre back and Fletcher at Right back. It will be another story against Wolfsburg. They've got Dzeko, Grafite and Martins...

The reason International students pay more is due to the fact the government is levying the cost of education from taxes.

Why should UK taxpayers subsidise the education of international students?

Another thing to think about is the fact that the UK is only 2nd to the US for accepting students... that would be a hell of a lot of money being subsidised out if fee's were reduced for internationals.

Although in your defence EU students pay the same, but you could argue we receive a lot of EU funding among other things.

You're welcome.

:D for a moment it was like Tevez was back at United. Undercover player

What I'm concerned about right now is that we only have 2 fit defenders in Evra and DeLaet and the latter isn't even registered for the CL.

The big concern is central defence. I am sure Fletcher can do the job at right back. Have we ever been in a situation like that before? Would be nice if Vidic returns in time for the game. We could have a decent defence with Evra - Carrick - Vidic - Fletcher.

EDIT: we also have Corry Evans who can play at centre back if needed.

It's the CL, for which you've already qualified (1st place?), send in your reserves. You must have 2 CB and one RB who're fit in reserves.

In FM anyone under 21 can play without being registered, is it the same in real life?

The 21 thing is a good point. I'm pretty sure it's the same IRL.

Even our youngsters are not available! Cathcart and Chester are both out on loan...

I never knew about this 21 thing. Never noticed on FM as well... If it applies, De Laet can be called in. Anyway we'll see what happens on Tuesday. Should be interesting to see what Fergie will do. I'm pretty sure Vidic will play though.

Vidic is not playing, it was just announced. Also, SAF has decided not to bring Rooney or Berbs. He might as well have told the media 'we are settling for 2nd place.'

I knew this was going to happen (the injury crisis on defense). It happens every season at some point, never this bad, but it always happens. It's a good thing we let the Ronaldo money rot instead of bringing in some extra defenders.

God I hate this team sometimes.

What else could he do? Bring Berbatov and Rooney along even though they picked up injuries?

We actually have 9 defenders who can play in the first team. 8 of them are injured. Its not that we don't have enough defenders. We do have more than enough backup in defence. Its just that 8 players are injured at the same time. use your logic.

Then you can screw off.

Sure we have 9 defenders, but only two of them (Evra and Vidic) are what I would consider outstanding players. The rest are anywhere from just good to average.

We should've gone after some world-class defenders last summer. Make a huge bid for Maicon or insisted that Real include Sergio Ramos in the Ronaldo deal. Or make a swoop for Daniel Alves or Chiellini or someone.

Also, a young keeper because Edwin is about done for and Ben Foster is not the answer for the future.

Common our defence has been doing good this season and last season. Nothing to complain of. I don't see why we would need defenders. And Kuszczak has shown great performances so far.

Jeez, you have alzheimers or something? Rio has an off couple of months and all of a sudden he's forgotten? Come on, there's not a team in the world that can put up superstars in all 11 positions. Is our defense not as strong as Chelsea's? perhaps, but that's kind of what they're known for. Our back four at full strength are plenty strong.
By the way, we're the club with the second best defensive record in the prem league right now. Despite the fact that we've been plagued HALF THE BLOODY SEASON with defensive injuries (Edwin was out for how long?), we've still let in a mere 13 goals in 15 games. Last time I checked, that's doing fairly well.
One last thing - you say we need a new young goalkeeper? There's this Tomasz Kuszczak guy I've heard good things about...
