Well I got to admit that Inter didn´t have any other way to play than to defend and keep their result, my respects for you'll , but I must say that Bojan goal was a valid goal, but never mind, Inter did their job at their stadium and thats it. Now good luck.

Seeing the squad celebrating getting to the final was amazing.. all the hard working players who have been around for years are really soaking up this fenomenal experience.

How about Balotelli, will he be purchased
will he be sold, you mean? I highly doubt it ... I mean if Man City come in with a mega offer of 50 million, then I'm sure Inter would take it ... but that is very unlikely, though not entirely impossible ... I still maintain that it would be foolish to sell him ... Super Mario is only 19, and has shown enough to suggest that he will be a future superstar ... he will mature with time, so there really is no reason to be rid of him, or to even loan him out ...

Not far away from the transfer season.... Could Inter need some new players?
well there is far too much that will happen between now and the pre-season to start speculating about transfers now ...

firstly, it is anyone's guess whether José will stay or not ... I've said it a few times already in the past: I think Mourinho will leave, and I think he will be at Real Madrid next season ... Man City is the other name linked with him, but with Mancini only recently being appointed, that is a little less likely ... I mean, if Mancio fails to take City into the Champions League, then the owners at Eastlands may want to bring in Mourinho; but would Mourinho really want to be coaching in the Europa, when he would have several options with Champions League teams? also, I expect he would want to coach in Spain because he is clearly trying to experience it all at the highest level before settling in at one team ...

but if I am wrong and he stays one more season (and I would not be unhappy if I am wrong in this case), then his targets have not been that much of a secret ... he likes Aleksandr Kolarov, he likes Marek Hamšík, both of whom are excellent IMO ... there are a few other defensive options to consider too ... but if Mourinho leaves, then squad plans will depend on who the new manager is (which itself will be draw a huge amount of speculation if it happens this summer) ...

plus, this a World Cup year, and there is no better shop window than the biggest tournament in football ... clubs usually do well to sew up their signings before a major tournament, to stave off sudden price hikes due to competition for a player's signature ... but because of the uncertainty surrounding Mourinho at the moment, it is difficult to make any plans concrete ...

I expect Mourinho to make a decision after the Champions League final, and before the World Cup ... the speculation can begin then ...

Don't know, unsure about Balotelli... The fans might even start protests on him staying since he has gained a bad reputation. His ego and attitude is standing in the way of his progress which is sad to see because many possible superstars in the past have failed in their career because of their attitude. It is unsure about Mourinho too as you say, he has said that he is unhappy with Italian football and in the case of a move, he'd probably go to Real Madrid. If he would move, I'd hope that a good replacement is found. I fear the day when he becomes coach for the Portugese national team, if he chooses to. He could win the whole bloody World Cup with Portugal using his brilliant tactics.

hah, well he has said that he will not coach Portugal now, but only towards the end of his career -- you know, win the World Cup with his country, and retire for good after that (as a hero and legend, obviously (H))!

it's true the gesture was met with strong emotion from the fans towards Balotelli, but he has since publicly apologized, and fans turned up at training to sing songs of encouragement for him, or something ... he wasn't played today at the Olimpico, and there was a shot of him with his head in his hands, looking down at his feet ... with a little patience from everyone, I think Balotelli will be a major contributor next season, getting a lot of playing time ... I just hope that something doesn't give before that ...

and talking about the Olimpico, that was a not-unexpectedly comfortable win against Lazio ... the Aquile fans were not unhappy with the result, but this conspiracy theory about Lazio gifting Inter the win is silly -- it's not like Inter have had a tough time on their visits there in recent seasons, and it is a serious accusation to connect the fans' sentiments with the players' professionality ... plus, Lazio are near the basement because they constantly underperform ... I didn't hear any complaints when Roma won the derby this season as the away team for the first time in a few years ... and Floccari's penalty in that match (which would have buried the game) was worse than pathetic -- if that had happened against Inter, I think we all know what the anti-Interistas' reactions would have been ...

anyway, that was a comfortable win, and one less match to get through to the end of the season ...

midweek is the Coppa Italia final against title rivals Roma ... after all the animosity and conspiracy stuff between the two teams, it may be a little nasty -- just hoping for an injury-free night (apart from the positive result, of course) ... looking forward to it ...

How funny is it that the way things are La liga, Italy and even the EPl, that with few games to go, conspiracy theories are being thrown around

it is a damn shame, and a damn disgrace ... but I suppose PR managers will probably tell me that any publicity is good publicity ... such stories sell newspapers, get website hits, and polarize fans further ...

Congratulations Inter for winning the Copa

And Totti has lost it, totally hot headed retarded foul.

I love Totti for his football, but that was f*cking disgraceful! what the f*ck kind of talisman is that? in fact, the whole Roma team were a f*cking disgrace for letting their frustration (of being unable to beat Inter) make them try to deliberately physically harm the Inter players ... just an absolute disgrace ...

I was expecting a fiesty contest (see my post on the previous page on the final), given all the bad blood between the teams, not least in the last few weeks ... but this final was so far from a spectacle, it was sad ...

Nicola Rizzoli did well to keep his cards in his pocket as much as he could in the first half ... and I think he was quite generous in not booking quite a few of the raised-foot tackles, and all off-the-ball stomps from players like Rodrigo Taddei and Simone Perrotta ...

apart from the fighting, there was some football to be played ...

Milito's goal, which decided the contest, showcased his ability as a clinical marksman, rifling in an unstoppable shot into the top corner, despite being surrounded by defenders ... there were a few other big chances to score for Inter, especially for Maicon and Balotelli -- and both should have scored ... there was also a chance for Motta to bury it, or give Eto'o a tap-in; instead he pulled the ball back far too hard, and the chance had gone ...

Roma had their fair share of opportunities too, notably Juan, who had the goal gaping after a rebound from Totti's freekick, which the Brazilian somehow managed to head over the bar ... Vučinić had a great chance late on to equalize, but he lacked a clinical touch, and that was that ...

special mention has to go to Pupi Zanetti, who was extraordinarily good today, and made countless precision tackles, and was always an option going forward ... what a legend!

José's Inter win the Coppa! in doing so, Mourinho has officially won all trophies that one can win in Italy ...

Congrats to the Inter fans ... but I'm sure they will hope/feel that this is only the beginning of the trophy haul in the next 2 weeks ... there was a great banner in the stands that read: "Che cosa vogliamo? Vogliamo tutto!" (H) ... I hope they get their wish ...

---------------

Sneijder went off injured, holding his hamstring ... I don't expect it to be too big an injury, because that would be a BIG blow ahead of the Champions League final ... Iván Ramiro Córdoba went off injured too, but -- with all due respect -- that wouldn't be too much of a loss as far as the remainder of the season is concerned ... I hope and expect to see all players fully fit for Madrid ...

I think it was more about fighting and diving than playing football. Even at the end, Inter players couldn't celebrate, since they had to take care of some other things. lol

Materazzi! :icon_spin:
Totti! :icon_spin:
Taddei! :icon_spin:

3 bastards!!!

The only good thing from the match was that beautiful goal by Militio.

What the heck are you on about buti? As if Barca aren't guilty of anything similar in the past.

oh no, please don't start an off-topic discussion of that nature in here ...

Buti, if you feel compelled to reply, please quote Zakov, and post your reply in the Barcelona thread, where it would be pertinent to defend Barça ... thanks in advance man (Y) ...

Why is it off-topic? He was discussing the nature of the final(which involved Inter and Roma), and I wanted to point out that its not only Italian teams, and used Barca as a reference.

But since you're so bothered about it, I'll just end this discussion here. Pfft
