Just a thought, but there's also the element of pressure. I don't think that there's any question that Real is probably the most stressful place in the world to play; someone is ALWAYS going to be breathing down your neck for your spot, and if you're not winning 100% of your games, you're going to get strung up by the media and fans. The ones who are successful are the ones who can cope with that stress. C. Ronaldo, for example, is pretty well known for feeding off opposing fans' jeers, so the club is a great fit for him. He loves to be hated. Conversely, another former madridista, Ivan Campo, has been very open about the fact that at Madrid he was too freaked out by the under-a-microscope lifestyle to just play like he knew how. When he moved to a comparatively laid back Bolton side, his performance drastically improved, and he went on to become nigh talismanic for them for much of the aughts.

But still no huge progress in the league... Guess Tottenham just can't ever compete for the Premier League title, huh? But the Champions League success is really something to be happy about even if there was a little bit of luck involved. And who knows, if Tottenham do a good match away against Real then maybe semis could be possible (Y) Stay positive!

And Huddlestone is finally back.

Oh and tits.
Sorry Spurs fans. It was just one of those days. Happens. U guys did better than us Gooners in the tournament and deserved more until Robo-cop got sent off like prick. But be positive as you proved you got what it takes. U exceeded expectations and did it with style and passion most importantly with pride. Take it as a blessing in disguise as u must qualify for the CL next season.
Return to the 2nd leg and give them a game to remember. Having a rival of your quality is a matter of pride........from an Arsenal and Real Madrid fan.......BEST WISHES

Its not criminal, but frowned upon. The way I see it is you should support one team (maybe a second one if it is a small team located within 50 miles of your house). If you are a fan of big teams from all over europe then you are not a true fan at all.

Ill answer that but first tell me where are you from??? Which country, state, town etc

Before the World Cup people asked me who do i support.... I said Netherlands. They were literally shocked as I am known to be obsessed with the game and asked how could I support a team like that. So thats an example of how much knowledge people have about soccer. The only teams the majority know and support is Brazil and Argentina and players in Maradona and Pele. So I dont need to elaborate whats the condition of club football here. Once i remember watching a match between the most popular club teams here and the football was so pathetic that I came back home as early as 10 minutes after kick off. That sums up your curiosity about supporting a club from my area or anything like that.

I don't count myself in the category u see a true fan should be. But in my eyes I love the game more than any team or anything else. The bad and the good but the bad has to be on the field and to a certain extent. And i don't support all the big guns around Europe. I do get attracted to characteristics of a team i find unique. As I said earlier that I support Real Madrid but I can't help admiring Barca's culture and the number of magical players they nurtured themselves. I respect your definition of a fan because honestly thats the way it should be. Certainly I don't count in your category but it does not reduce my passion to any cause. The people who play the game or have a part to play don't do it so its not that bad is it.

What characteristics drew you to Madrid? The carousel of managers? The total lack of faith in their youth players? The fact that money is of no consequence to them? Their personal propoganda machine that is the Spanish press?

You're such a Madrid hater aren't you? :D You hate them more than Barca fans probably.

That being said, I agree with what you said about Madrid. I look down at teams with this kind of policy.

Yes, but the difference between me and Barca fans is that I could conceivably like Madrid if they and the press changed their attitudes/policies; Barcelona fans hate Madrid to their core.

@Sevillista..... I never liked those parts for sure. I don't know anyone who likes such policies. A sensible die hard Real fan would not support such stupidity. But Mourinho has given this squad an identity and a system and Perez has finally kept himself under control as I feel. So things look better now. But the one thing that bothers is this virus Jorge Valdano. Within the next few years its all gonna be glory for Madrid is one thing I am sure of.

If Tottenham doesn't get a top four spot this season then the season will be a failed one. Despite the Champions League success.

Not really, they overachieved last season. They have a good enough squad to do it again, and they'll have to if they want to consistently challenge for the Top 4, because City will outspend the **** out of them once they get to the CL. But the Premiership has been extremely competetitive around the European spots these past 2 seasons, and it's really just a matter of time before City push everyone back.
