What kind of performance was that? And what has happened to Evans? He was at fault for the most goals, he gets pushed around way to easy. He made Carlton Cole look like Drogba. Only Anderson, Giggs, Obertan and Hernandez tried to get something out of this game. Credits to West Ham for playing a good game, game raisers.....

Not too bothered about the defeat..just the manner of it. We played very poorly. Hopefully it will be a lesson for some of the youngsters.

don't really understand what's the big surprise there, dude's an average CB at most and ****s up in a regular basis. Nowhere near United material if you ask me...

btw, this result means Porto is now the only unbeaten team in Europe so far this season (H)

Ferguson rolled out the forfeit lineup for today, and it showed.

It's amazing how a team can go from performing so flawlessly on the weekend to so pathetically at midweek.

So much for the unbeaten streak.

Evans sucks, dude was at fault for the blackburn goal as well. he is a good passer of the ball, but in the air he sucks and if you ask me that is a CB's bread and butter.

im not too worried about the CC, i think it was a crutch for us last season winning it.

I don't think you guys should be too worried about the loss, the Carling Cup is a good thing for your youngsters though. Guys like Macheda, Fabio, Smalling etc...

BTW, first place after being like 6 pts down. Not bad at all. You need Rooney back and focused though, there are gonna be points in the season that your gonna be hanging on an Rooney is a player who can deliver big time. I hope WAZZA recovers his form, he really is a joy to watch.

Props for Fergie talking some sense into him, the man commands respect even from superstars(Y)

The cup isn't the problem. It's the very loss that has the symbolical meaning. Up until now, we were unbeaten.

Exactly.

Not only that, but what bothers me is that we obviously went into the game with the mindset of 'we don't care about this competition.' We should be playing to win every game, every competition.

We've got Blackpool this weekend, whom we should easily defeat, even if our regulars had played yesterday and then been tired against Blackpool.

Come on, Carling cup is as important as a reserve game.

We went from 7-1 to 4-0. Why? Because we made 10 changes from the brilliant team that won 7-1. And also, Evans was playing. Our usual lineup is far from this one, so I'm not worried at all with that.

Most important is that we are unbeaten in the UCL and EPL so far.

That statement might come back and bite you on the arse. Blackpool are very capable of pulling off shock results against anyone on the day. Should be a good game, and Blackpool will be well up for it.:cb:

Yeah, I can accept that...I suppose on a given day, any Premiership team could beat another.

However, you can't deny that if we trot our regulars onto the pitch on Saturday the game is certainly going to be ours to win or lose.

I think it's good to have confidence and go into every game believing that you are the better team and deserve to win...however, it IS true that you should never underestimate your opponent.

Any game is yours to win or lose regardless of who you put on the pitch.

I don't think so.

If we fielded the 11 from Tuesday's game against any of Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs or City, I think it would be their game to boss, not ours.

That is a different concept. Notice how you didn't use the same terms.

Perhaps I should've worded it differently the first time around, but that's the idea I was getting at.
