Okay in Career mode, how does a player get better and progress? Overall attribute wise.

I'm using real Madrid, I'm about 30 games in and I noticed CR7 went up 1 and a couple of others. Ozil and Di Maria have yet to increase yet they play every game and they play pretty well. Does it have something to do with form? Or is it just like random? I play 6 min halves too. Could it be because a game or two a player doesn't do well and it's weighted as if the game was really long?

It is based on their age and their potential, which can be discovered at:

once a player hits their potential, they are unlikely to grow much higher unless they have ridiculously high match ratings every match. Note the list only includes players who get to 75+ (Y)

You seem to know the trick! I average about 6.9 - 8.0 player ratings. Ronaldo is the only one that gets in the 8's for me. Is that good enough to maximize most player growth? Also I was thinking of getting either Piqué, Kompany, or a good Mid. Suggestions?

I sold Higuan, Khederia(sp), and someone else. Also thinking of selling Kaka. I'm only 30 some games in as said but i had constant injuries to my mid fielders or defenders. I bought Jesus Navas for cheap, and Neymar the second time around.

First: I recommend only realistic signings(at least not that seriously unrealistic), so that's why you don't see Piqué on my list.
Frederik Sörensen(Juventus, send him out on loan), Hummels(Dortmund), Roderick Miranda(Benfica, loan out), Nicolás Otamendi(Portoooo), Victor Ruíz(Valencia [in second season]) for the CB position.
As for midfield. I suppose you need a good Central midfielder or Defensive midfielder. Then DMs: Javi Martínez(Athletic Bilbao), Yann M'Vila(Rennes), Daniele De Rossi(Roma).
CMs: Joao Moutinho(Porto), Éver Banega(Valencia), Markus Henriksen(Rosenborg, send on loan), Lucho González(Marseille, he's 30 but ******* class). That's all I can think of ATM.

midfield : Sergi roberto ( from barca b a great talent) J.Wilshere /T.Kroos (bayern munichen) ... there are more .. but i guess those can fit specaily wilshere as u have navas and neymar

CDM : A.Vidal
RCM/LCM: J.Wilshere + Thiago alcantara
attack is changing every match but basicly is messi + neymar+ sanchez

Thanks again :)! I wanted to let go of either Benzema or Di Maria to make room for another Mid. I find myself starting one of those two in Mid because of massive injuries. I'll give it a shot though. Kroos was on my radar too :)

Oh and my other question about player growth! Is averaging 7-8 player ratings good enough to make a player grow at a decent amount?

I need some help here!
I'm at the forth season with milan ,Pato is my best player and goal scorer hes at 89 and he want's to leave and don't know what to do to keep him.
Even If I say no to all offers he leaves by himself :(.

Exactly what happened to me with Ronaldo during my first season. I had to restart cause the board will force it through anyway :( I don't know of any way to counter it. Did you sell a lot of players or something?

Try re-signing him to a massive deal and "stall" any offers to till he reacts to the contract offer, helped me keep raul abiol.

I sold all the old players from milan. I kept T.Silva, Taiwo,Sharaawi,Boateng.

I have Lukaku,Pato ,Muniain,Macheda,Robinho as Forwards Shaquiri,Boateng ,Ganso,Kara,Acuah,El Sharaawi as Middle fielders,Sergio Ramos,Sakho,Thiago Silva,Vand der Will,Taiwo Didac defenders and Lloris GK.
I just don't know how to keep Pato. Even made him sign a new contract 250.000 salary +10% per goal and he still leaves.

yup .. its quite easy ... after the overal place. . under it u can find
Shortlist : No ,, u'll only have to click on it once to turn it to " Yes" and then Submit search and u'll get all the players u shortlisted before :)
