FIFA 13 - First Details

Senior Squad

First Touch Control
In FIFA 13 every touch matters with the most comprehensive and intuitive dribbling system ever developed. Inspired by the world’s best footballer, Lionel Messi, Complete Dribbling enables players to face their opponent and use precise dribble touches combined with true 360° mobility with the ball, so it’s easier to be more creative and dangerous in 1v1 opportunities. Players change direction quicker, are more explosive accelerating with the ball, and are more effective shielding defenders for longer stretches. FIFA 13 1st Touch Control transforms the way players control the ball, eliminating near-perfect touch for every player on the pitch, and creating variety and uncertainty around ball control. Factors such as defensive pressure, trajectory of the ball, and velocity of the pass now impact a player’s first touch, creating more opportunities for defenders to win back possession.

Player Impact
Another feature that got improved is the player impact engine. There will be no more unrealistic animations in the players challenges! The second generation of the Player Impact Engine expands physical play from just collisions to off-the-ball battles between players. Defenders push and pull for position, and use their size and strength to win possession or force opponents into poor touches and decisions before the ball arrives.

Complete Dribble
In FIFA 12 you could dribble just by changing direction, in FIFA 13 this won’t be possible anymore!

Tactical Free-Kicks
FIFA 13 Tactical Free Kicks provides the tools to create dangerous and unpredictable free kicks utilising the most skillful players on the pitch. Position up to three attacking players over the ball and utilise dummy runs and more passing options to create elaborate free kicks. Opponents can counter by adding or subtracting players to the wall, creeping the wall forward, or sending a bullet man to intercept the pass or block the shot.

Attacking AI
The most sophisticated artificial intelligence ever achieved for the FIFA franchise will drive FIFA 13 on HD consoles and PC. All-new Attacking Intelligence enables players to analyse space, work harder and smarter to break down defenses, and think two plays ahead. Players now possess the intelligence to create, curve, or alter runs to capitalize on openings as they occur, make runs that pull defenders out of position to open passing channels for teammates, and better position themselves for new attacking opportunities.

Beside all of these improvements, David Rutter still wants to make other upgrades to the game such as new passing types, new shot rotation moves and new goalkeeper animations. Also, the cheering animations have been adjusted to the current football atmosphere. One last thing he really wants to improve is the referee!

The graphics in FIFA 13 will also have a big update after EA Sports adopted the new Dimensional Imaging software to boost player likeness! Full article HERE.

Great ... so now it will be impossible for us casual, keyboard users to dribble?

Just get an Xbox 360 controller mate. Much handier to play FIFA. Made the switch from keyboard to an Xbox 360 controller when FIFA 11 came out and for me it has been a whole other experience. Even for a casual player I'd say it's absolutely worth the money.

In an earlier article, FIFA Infinity reported that as of now, there are going to be three more leagues in FIFA 13 than in 12, with the Czech and Turkish leagues, which both were in 11, making their comebacks, and the Saudi-Arabian league.

More licensed content is always good IMO, so I'm glad about that. On the other hand, the drought on South American leagues continues.

thats ****ed up really. dribble is very simple. it should be simple. theres no need ronaldo's skill to drible anyone. just put the ball aside and pass. i hope it wont be such a problem as it seems

I think PES will beat FIFA this year... PES will have massive improvements(gameplay) and FIFA will have 4 new things in gameplay

just improve the graphics for fifa 13 man....PES graphics look so real only their gameplay and player details are sh*t...but FIFA needs to improve on their pitch details, player shadows, lighting etc

E.g. playing in rain is good graphics but playing in sunny or snowy weather is just pathetic

PES improved their gameplay vastly for the 2012 version. The gameplay is smooth. Of course, there is still a big room for improvement. FIFA 12, on the other hand, is solid... but in my opinion, it still lacks more dyamic and options when attackin. I feel like you always end up with the same 3 or 4 options to score, while PES gives you more versatility in that respect.

Also, FIFA needs to have a massive addon for faces. It's ridiculous that players such as Pastore, Marcelo, Busquets, Alexis Sanchez (and many many many more) still have generic faces. Plus, it also need more uniqueness in the running, passing and dribbling animations for the top players. I can't believe that the best players still feel and move the same way.

Don't jump into conclusions so quick, bro... I've been a PES player since the days of International SuperStar Soccer, and throughout all the WE series. I just enjoy PES 2012 after tweaking it with a few tools and stuff. What's your problem with that?. I give a **** what "real PES players" (like you? lol) say. I'm one of them myself and I'm fine with enjoying this game more than FIFA 12.

So pay attention, I've been in here longer than you learnt how to speak, so talk to me with respect. Actually you should talk to everybody with respect, no matter how long they've been here.

a game is good and deserve to be judged for the original gameplay, not for tweaked one. so...
so, how to call you after this contradiction? :) just tell me

LOL... if I had to judge FIFA without Tweaking it at all, then.......

My opinion on both games were based on playing them the way I like them: With some tools, some new graphics (from adboards to faces, to stadiums, etc), even with FXAA Tool, and of course: Tweaked gameplay.

Otherwise, for me, both game would suck.
I still stand for what i said, PES is more enjoyable and dynamic than FIFA this year... at least for me.
