Use file master or file manager to extract the overlay.big files
With file master, the the graphic files inside the overlay.big files are dds
With file manager, the graphic files inside the overlay.big files appears as png.

All graphic files can be edited with programs such as photoshop or gimp.

I have a video, but i cannot post it, because i cant remember who the tutorial is for.

The " X " will refer to the number 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc these numbers refer to where each pop ups resides ingame. for example. Those starting with 2 belong to all english leagues.

overlay_x018 - Formation pop up
overlay_x042 - Intro pop up
overlay_x044 - Commentators
overlay_x012 - Goal celebration
overlay_x002 - Scoreboard
overlay_x021 - Substitutions
overlay_x020 - Match official
overlay_x003 - Penalty
overlay_x015 - Match Summary

In each overlay files there are a number of graphic/image files that make up one part of the overlay. for example, In fifa 12, the intro pop up for the english leagues has 9 graphic files that come together to make up one overlay.

Just as i told you before. Extract the overlay files, then extract the graphic files in them, edit them with photoshop then import them back in and that's it
