arianos10 I still get this issue even though I have made sure that the fifa_tools folder is clean, I have re-installed Blender and now am using your latest 0.51 release...

The hairs I've tested that have the "skin in hair texture" "bug" are, Ozil's default Fifa14 & modded short hair of Fifa13, Giroud's Fifa14, but then when I tested Bale's default Fifa14 hair with your latest 0.51 release everything seems okay...?

Here are screenshots of the textures extracted from Giroud's default Fifa14 hair textures stored in the fifa_tools folder:


It seems that maybe the secondary hair mesh (the one giving the spiky detail to the hair) is somehow loading a part of the texture containing the skin of the player like in picture 1 above...?

I think that its the modded hair's fault. I can't imagine what goes wrong, but the script was made to open the new fifa 14 files. So i can only guarantee you for them. If you insist on using these files, then you can just rearrange the materials yourself :D

And btw can you send them to me in case i can do something?

Crap... 99% its not a script error. It has to do with blender permissions... Try to run blender as administrator, or fix the permissions in blender's directory :(

The next release, will be a bit massive because of a new way to import the meshes, with less errors (actually if that works there will be no import errors at all), faster, more effectively and with more additional data read from the file (i hope that i'll identify all the new information :D) and a general exporter to suit all files, so that you'll be able to modify managers,balls,trophies, in short everything that is imported (except stadiums of course that'll need special handling).

I've tried importing those files I've sent you using the new version and it doesn't import the hair files and doesn't export anything. The previous version didn't export any changes but didn't display any error message.

Yeah, you're right, I reinstalled blender and it worked this time.

I can't export either, I get an error message saying the files are the same. Shouldn't it either overwrite the old files with my new ones or create a new file name? considering we have to select the same export directory that the import files are in its obvious the file it exporting will be the same as one already there.... I just don't get it. It's a shame I can't get this to work because I'm not motivated to make any more faces until I can start making the hairs fit.

The files you sent me, both you and makio for the xbox files, are compressed. The script does not support compressed files as i've told a million times :P. I've not decompressed them yet to see their structure, but until then the only normal thing is the script to trigger errors everywhere..

Its not possible yet, it will be possible when i add crowd exporting possibility. For now you can just preview the colors. I have some ideas for the crowds and i am applying them rigth now, just to see what will happend. I hope it is going to look good :D

Here is what the script does: It searches for the files in 3d main file and(or) hair file paths. At first, it copies the files to the export directory. Afterwards it opens the copied ones and applies the edits in there.

If the paths you have chosen are the same, you'll get an error because the script has nothing to copy.

I've done that for backup purposes. The original file will always stay the same. So you can have a backup of it and reopen if if you want to.

All you have to do is to select A DIFFERENT DIRECTORY... Its not that hard...

you can do that yourself :D:D

the script gives you that opportunity :D That was the point of the overall importer. To import ANYTHING from the game and use it.

Search for files in the data03.big named:
steward_blahbalh
photograhper_blahblah
manager_blahblah
cameraman_blahbalh
ballboy_blahbalh
policeofficer_blahbalh



I also have some GREAT news about crowd importing (and of course exporting in the future).
No more these idiot (and million) vertex groups and previews. Now everything is vieable in vertex paint mode :D:D

I know the script doesn't work with compressed files. Those I've sent you are the original ones. The ones I've imported were uncompressed prior to importation ;)
Would be cool if it was possible to export changes to those files, cause that head model needs some minor adjustment (perhaps some re-scaling or position adjustment)

An interesting thing about those files however is the size of the containers... They are smaller than normal. For instance, the common size for face containers (specific faces) is 512 x 512 whereas the face container in those files I've sent you is 256 x 256, The eyes are 64 x 64... (contrary to the common 128 x 128) It seems they're all half the size of the common fifa files

The latest version of the script should be working with these unccompressed files. I managed to export them with changes :O

Its marcelo isn't it?? Everything imported fine. Both models and materials :S

I checked it with the version i've uploaded and indeed the hair is not being imported. The good news is that with the new reading method even that got read, so that is very good. It means that there is a very low propability of errors :D

Yup it's Marcelo's face from Fifa World that can be used both in fifa 12 and fifa 13 but the problem with a lot of those faces is there's a slight protrusion on the left side of the players necks, making the neck tex "cut through" the shirt's collar, that's why I wanted to adjust the model to get rid of that issue. At first I didn't notice the difference in the containers' size, but after viewing the files with file explorer I saw that they were half the "regular" size (don't know it this has anything to do with the problem with the model positions though)

not at all, textures does not bother anyone i think, and of course you can replace them.

The models looks exactly like the others :D, and as i told you i modified and exported them as well :D

You did that with the version that's about to come "out of the oven" or with the last one you uploaded?

I've got a question: Would it be possible to import a shirt along with the other head and hair files? I got curious cause this would make tweaking the head models (those with that little problem) a much more streamlined process...
