I started reading Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy about a year ago at the library, but never had the time to take it out and finish it. Only got maybe a chapter into it. Has anyone else read it? Hoping to get my hands on it to try again.

I had to pick a 19th c. Novel to do a comparative analysis of and I foolishly picked Great Expectations. I have been reading it for a month and still haven't finished it because it.is so boring. Fuck Dickens.

Ha. That one's on my list. May have to knock it down a few rungs though. Tried Tolstoy's Anna Karenina. THAT is a tough one. killed a month of my summer before I gave up.

I find that 19th c Lit, unless it's turn of the century is very boring for a modern reader. Austen and Dickens are insufferable. Even Jekyll and Hyde, an interesting story in essence, doesn't quite make for a captivating read.

Good intro for those in finance who are looking to understand the basics of private equity.

You a finance man?

Yep, I've spent most of my time working for banks and I hate what I do. Working in the corporate banking system is thankless and your guaranteed to be let down.

I'm looking to get into the investment area, already tried it for a few years before the 08 financial collapse. It was fun and quite interesting. What area are you involve in the banks?

I currently know someone that works in banks, but in the low level of, teller, and maybe not at the level that you're at.

I know a guy who used to work in investment banking. 60 hour weeks got the better of him, and he quit in order to pursue poker.

Investment banking is a tough gig, I have a college buddy who also quit the daily grind and plays poker and he's damn good at it. He's made so much money we syndicate loans together and he has become one of my equity resources.

I've been reading Star Wars books. It's something light and easy to digest while riding our underfunded, overpriced subway here in Toronto.

From investment banking to poker, I guess that's not too big of a leap

It makes no sense to me, I don't play cards and I always believed it was luck but poker players are adamant its a game of skill.

LOL, I used to read these when I was in Middle School. I really can't imagine how I would react seeing a well dressed man with your mustache reading Heir to the Empire.

I don't really read many books, but i'm planning to read Ibrahimović's biography. The better parts have been already quoted in web articles etc, but i'm still interested. A friend of mine who's a fan of him brought it to me like two days ago insisting me to read it.

I don't even like Ibra that much, and i guess he can be called as a bigmouth with his unorthodox way of answering questions etc. But whom i'm really interested is that slimeball agent of his, apparently there's a lot of talk about him as well. And luckily the book is in English, not translated into Estonian. Otherwise i wouldn't even glance at it.

I hate reading which is why I got Audible for Android. I spend almost 2 hours a day driving so streaming books through my Bluetooth is super convenient.
