Owner is a title. When I used to work at a burger joint the owner would come by from time to time and I knew he was head boss. He also clearly gave a fuck about the place unlike most of his employees.

Exactly. The issue is you have lots of kids running businesses they inherited from mommy and daddy now and they have no ambition other than milking it for every dime it's worth.

I agree with this. As a consumer I get pissed of when I am served by some gormless high school kid who doesnt know the answers to any of my questions and spends 5 minutes trying to work out how to use the till. Pay 150% of minimum wage, get your pick of the workers in your industry and get them to stay beyond the amount of time it takes them to learn how to do their jobs.
