I don't think the FA have any grounds to punish him for something he did outside their 'jurisdiction'. If I were them, and if FIFA's punishment failed to apply to the league, I would have people evaluate every single movement of his on the field and the moment he does anything unprofessional you jump on it and add the previous stuff.

If people like Mutu and Toure get long bans for substance abuse, violent conduct of this kind (not a hard tackle or anything like that) should be punished very heavily, too.

That's true. I wonder though if there are any by-laws or code of conduct inside a premier league contract which could be applied though, I'd assume there's criminal and drug related clauses

as long as a league is associated with FIFA, which most if not all are. FIFA can ban him from said league. so yes, they can ban him from the EPL if they wish to do so or any professional league in the world under FIFA.

this is what happened to Salvador Carmona who was retired from professional football by FIFA after testing positive 3x for illegal substances.

No-one cares but: some crazy Polish guy who dropped out of Philosophy in the Uniwersytet Zielonogórski in Poland, Leszek Ludomir, ran onto the field in the Ghana-Germany game; half naked with Nazi symbols within a gmail address written on his back and torso. :|

I wonder if he was trying to reach his idols Klose and Podolski! (H)

I'm just watching on fox sports Argentina that Fifa will sanction Suarez with 9 fifa games.
This seems like too much for me, I was thinking maybe 1 sanction game was ok, but with 9 games, he would not have chance to even play the final in case Uruguay reaches that stage.

On top of the 9 games, he will have a 4 months ban as well.

Too little, he should miss the copa america and possibly even the next world cup, the next team to play him should refuse to take the field, why should they play with someone who is going to bite them

Suggesting Suarez should get a 1 game ban is ridiculous. Players have missed finals for cumulative yellows in games they had already sewn up. 9 games and 4 months sounds like too little to me too. He already got something to that effect last season. This is the THIRD time he's bitten a player on the field. PArents are stricter with their biting infants for God's sake.

We agree he did wrong. A 1 game ban would've been correct because it recognizes a wrong action by the player has been done. We need to take into account that this is a world cup. Maybe they could have waited after the tournament.
One of the sanctions is that he cannot even enter a stadium!! Really, it's too much, they are exaggerating.

No it's not, he'd probably bite a spectator

You must be joking. 1 game? He missed the semis for a handball let him miss a whole season for biting for the THIRD FUCKING TIME.

What I'm saying is maybe he should be banned for 1 game in the world cup, and if Uruguay goes to quarter finals he could play then, and then after the world cup he can be banned for the remaining 8 games. Something like that.
Like, if they want to be severe, ok, but at least they can also be a little tolerant, given that this is such an important tournament and that is played every four years.
