i'm absolutely gutted about Welbeck. At least i think the move will take him to the next level hopefully getting regular playing time like Sturridge did. Great news for England.

Faar, this picture is really upsetting because Welbeck and Giggsy has been together or Giggsy has known Welbeck since he was a kid and to let him go to Arsenal is quite heartbreaking.

On bright side, this transfers will give Marone a chance to play in his favorite position ...

Welbeck has always been one of the most frustrating players on the pitch. I don't think that the manc-connection is enough to keep him. The only mistake was to sell him to Arsenal. They were smart enough not to give Vermaelen and then we give them Welbeck.

I've never found him that frustrating because what do you expect when played out of position. You only have to look at his England stats to know what he can do when played right.

Hes no RVP but hes got the potential to be like Sturridge. Regularly played in the middle I suspect he will take it to the next level and start banging in more goals.

Time will tell though and on the bright side being a die hard United Fan we might be able to buy him back in the future.

Yeah, about him coming back, I don't understand why we didn't push for a loan deal for him. Arsenal were desperate and would've gone for it. Instead we got rid of him for a price that is laughable, when you compare to what other english players go for anyway. If it would've been the other way around, I'm sure Woody would've payed 30 mil.

Also, it's now officialy that Cleverley will go to Villa on a loan, with an option to buy him for 7,5 mil in January. Low price again, but glad he's gone.

we don't need a big squad anyway ... 35 league game + at most 5-6 FA cup game ...

hopefully not playing in Europe will give us some advantage in CL spot race ...

Yeah really well, you got Blackett, M Keane, James, Lingard, Wilson, Thorpe, Amos and Johnstone All 21 or under that are shining. Time will tell which will make it though.

I suspect Keane, Lingard and Wilson have big potential.

None of those players are regulars or even semiregulars in the first team (only exception being Blackett because you had no one else to play the position). Every team has a list of promising players like that.

I used to care about youth academy and trusting local players before ... not anymore ...

I agree but if struck with injuries we are screwed then lol....we had 10 injuries during mk dons game i guess....not sure
