Wow I didn't even realised that Good Soldier Svejk was translated to a different languages. As a guy from Czech Republic I am proud to hear that people in the world heard and even read the book.

And let me add a lame message about how I recently read 2001: A Space Oddyssey. The book was even better than movie IMHO. Well, that's about it.

Just want to be clear that I did really enjoy the first part, but towards the end the same stuff just keeps happening and it gets a little tedious.

I don't think that's lame, I don't like sci fi but I would still be curious to read that one. Svjek is very famous and popular internationally. I read anther Czech novel a couple of years ago, the cowards

Good for you, you make me proud! You might extend your knowledge about life and football in general.

Actually I didn't manage to finish that saying completely and I won't, but I'll add to that. What I meant to say was I don't believe in stupidity, I have seen it, but I don't believe in it. So there's that again. Now you make your own conclusions out of that!

But let's not carry this thing too offtopic otherwise Shifty will get pissed off and we don't want that now do we?

I just realised that karussell could be a bot specifically designed to annoy ShiftyPowers - abusing Bayern and then spamming his pet thread

I have considered that myself.

Tell me if I should. I finished the homo book, it was called 'It's Me, Eddie' by Edward Limonov and it was a very good poetic and intellectual fictional memoir in very much beat style, interspersed with very graphic descriptions of him sucking the cocks of black hobos.

Next up, Svejk.

Yeah man, I thought I was comfortable enough in my sexuality that I could read that shit, but I had to skip entire pages because it got too much for me.

Az, are you still writing your thesis on the American Dream? Did you read The Grapes of Wrath? Because if you didn't, you are probably going to get torn a new anus if you have to defend the thing.

No, my thesis is an absurdist reading of The Great Gatsby, and depending on how much I can milk it I might try to establish that the American Dream itself is absurdist and provide some examples (Of Mice and Men might make it). Grapes and East of Eden are sititng on my bookshelf waiting, though. Recommended?
