The "problem" is that the gameplay in career mode is in some matches (or in some parts of the season) completely different from the gameplay which you experience in kick off mode.

But this "problem" isn't related to regularcat's gameplay, it happens at all gameplay patches (even from Fidel and Paul :/ ).

Are you playing MLS all the time? :D There are so many other leagues, it's quite interesting to play with teams in leagues that you don't know so much =)

Are you playing MLS all the time? :D There are so many other leagues, it's quite interesting to play with teams in leagues that you don't know so much =)

i'm all CONCACAF and CONMEBOL, these leagues have diversity every season, you never know who will win a title.

the UEFA is the same year in year out, the top 4 leagues have the same 3 teams always fighting for the title, it is boring.

the only thing i can think of is the rival and derby modifiers.

try setting them both to 0 and see what happens.

That's a bit harsh on the UEFA Leagues. You have Champions League, Europa League, Cups in each country and massive pyramids.

That's the beauty of football though, once in a while, the big teams get beaten by the smaller teams.

You should try career mode, take a English League 2 team and get them to the top, like I have. Lots of fun to be had there, in my opinion. Especially when locking yourself to one player and letting the AI do the work, seeing your tactics in action.

I've NEVER seen this career mode change happen in any of my career mode games. There is a randomizer, that is about it.

it's not harsh, the top euro teams have players on the squad that make more money than a lower league team's entire roster.

la liga, bundesliga for example you know that either barca or real or bayern will most likely take the title 90% of the time.

you won't see percentages like that in the MLS, teams are more balanced and because of that you have a better chance at seeing a different champion every year.

the most exciting aspect of euro football is the champions league but we all know the winner is always going to be one of those teams with ridiculous rosters totaling 1/4 of a billion dollars.

is there settings to make long passes worse in the cl.ini? I tried to set the modifier for PASS_ATTRIBUTE_LONG_PASSING to negative values but I didn't really see a difference in practice arena. I really hate how in FIFA games EVERY player can make accurate 60 yard passes T_T

enjoying playing vs the AI, defense is much improved : )

btw: for "tournament mode" the same settings like in career mode exists so the gameplay will also differ in tournaments from kick off mode! (e.g. in tournament mode these "form arrows" are present, in kick off mode they aren't^^ but there are much more features that could affect the gameplay in career/tournament).

you can modify player form values which help.

i'll give that a shot later, i have my AI file and match intensity table for now.

if i start to notice it happening in tournament mode i'll work on the form files.

Also why are a few things not like SHOT_SAVED_REALLY_EASY_1ST_THREAT not found in the exe? Where did you find them?

I always play career mode; at eredivisie with the PSV, I had no defeats for the 14 games or so, and then suddenly a streak of draws and defeats had came, now the gap had closed to 4 points, which is very realistic and fine by me.. suddenly I realised that it became very hard to score and very easy to concede, I don't know if my playing style had changed though..


it's perfectly fine by me for the career mode but try it regcat, maybe you can come up with something..

Hey, theo! It WAS brilliant. When i get to semifinals and finals the CPU goes back to cheat-mode. I just bought PES 15 about 2 hours ago. I'm switching games. I've always used regs gameplays but this year FIFA looks uncrackable. I can't be bothered. I'm about to smash my laptop and I can't afford to do that.

Hi Regularcat, do you think that cl.ini is good for Fifa 14? I've just tried to play fifa 14 with this cl.ini and the gameplay was brilliant, but I don't know maybe was just a placebo effect.

Still testing Reg AI's. I gave him my personal feedbacks. As I told you guys, he did a great job.
I don't know if he's busy at the moment. But I think Reg's versions of the game are the best one so far !

It is because EA have developed a system where the AI use the player attributes to affect its thinking process.

Example. if a player has a high short passing, the player will always play short passes

Example 2. if a player has a high finishing, the player will take lots of shots

It is a rubbish system, as any player, could do anything. Some more than others I agree but this should be marked as traits NOT attributes. Attributes are abilities, nothing more.

The development team should take a leaf out of NBA games. They have separated the traits from the attributes.
