A group of people, newspapers and journalists, i mean, people of the football, they are thinking in create a new tournament in America that could replace to the current Copa Libertadores that has 8 groups with 4 clubs that play in the most southamerican clubs with invitation to mexican clubs, but the difference would be because they would include more clubs, teams from northamerica, central america and caribbean clubs, it would be around of 70 clubs. The idea is to make something similar the European Champions League, the similar format of clasification, i mean, Pre-champion.

The quantity of clubs per country would be the next:

Brasil and USA 16 clubs, Argentina 10 clubs, Mexico 8 Clubs, Chile and Uruguay 2 Clubs, Paraguay 1 Club, The remain southamerican countries, Central America and Caribbean would play preliminary rounds to access to tournament that would have home and away matches format, without group stages.


I comment this as information and if some of you would be interested in the creation of this project but for FIFA16

This championship won't happen so soon. CONMEBOL and AFA don't support the project.

America is too big compared to Europe, managing a competition with 70 clubs in such a great area is a bit difficult. I would suggest making something that looks like UEFA ranking and the countries on the top would have 4 teams to qualify. I also heard there could be big money involved in this, with the rise of the MLS it could help the league to grow even more. But we'll see what will happen...
Speaking from FIFA 16, you should talk with some patchers if they are interested, but as there is nothing official it's not likely that they would accept, unless some of them like to do fantasy things.
