Manchester United 15/16 thread

I think last weeks formation was actually promissing. We played like a diamond 4 4 2 with Depay and Lindgard the false strikers. We should try the same with Depay and Martial with Mata or Rooney in the hole. After weeks of 1-0 and 0-0 games, we have to try something different.

Rooney is out with a "nasty" ankle injury. What a blessing!

We have lots of injuries so I would favour 442 diamond or 5-3-2 with McNair the 3rd defender

another boring game ... United matches are normally 2 am Saturday midnight here ... cant remember the last time I could stay awake for the whole match ...

United need to sack LVG, test whether Giggs is the right man, if not approach Ancelotti or Pep for next season ... we don't go anywhere with this fuck face philosophy

I disagree. LvG is doing alright even though we were expecting much better. Its not all his fault. Its not his fault that Rooney is playing like shit, Depay too. Martial is great but inconsistent because he is 19. The players have to assume responsibility too. He tried to sign players in the summer but there were hardly any strikers he could have realistically buy.

We are almost halfway through the season and are just 3 points off the top. I also don't like LvG tactics but I don't think its all about tactics. Players have to perform too.

Giggs is not qualified for the job. I think he needs to prove himself elsewhere first. People may say that it would be a similar situation as "Pep" but it isn't. "Pep" managed the B team and was successful. For Giggs, jumping from assistant manager to manager could be more disastrous that Queiroz jumping from assistant manager to manager or Rene Mulensteen jumping to the managers post.

Being a good assistant manager does not always translate to a good manager. Giggs is largely unproven. What we know for sure though is that his heart is for Man U and he will put his heart into the job.

We also had lots of good chances today but they were wasted. The best chance that we had was Martial's inches off the GK's left post. As I said, players have to perform. At the moment, we do not have a single player who can finish. Last year we had van Persie who could finish; he had 10 goals to his name despite the poor form.

Liverpool's players aren't wasting chances.

Thought the game itself was fine, the finishing was poor, Mata and Martial should have made it 3-0 with more composure

Won't argue with you on that. They have proven finishers like Sturridge and Benteke. they have better attackers. Our defense and midfield is better.

West Ham hit 2 on the post too... Could have been 2-0 for West Ham too.

I don't like their style but I wouldn't blame van Gaal for everything. Yesterday their attack was Martial Lingard Fellaini, I think. Dafuq is that. Depay should have started.

Chicharito out was the right move. This guy is an extremely limited footballer. He just scores, otherwise makes zero contribution. With the possession football in the EPL, he would have struggled. Under Alex Ferguson's tactics he's great because he is excellent on the counter but LvG doesn't play that.

He's playing well in Bundesliga because it is a much easier league for a player like him.

We'll have to get used to Thursday night football.

I can't understand why Man Utd didn't go for De Bruyne and Otamendi. They're in City instead. The two players they absolutely should have signed.
