CM08 and Windows 8

Recently upgraded my machine to Windows 8 but now CM08 will not start. Have tried running it in compatibility mode with no luck. Has anyone else encountered this or have any ideas on what can be done? Thanks!

This problem is back again. Had a hard drive issue and when the new drive was installed Windows 8.1 was installed and now CM08 8.5 will not work :(. Any help available?
