European Qualification Bug?

So, not sure if this part of the game or part of the mods i've installed.

Playing as Valencia in La Liga, I finished 4th in career mode, yet I received no Champions League playoff. The top three teams went through automatically (as they should) and then the 5th place team got the Champions League playoff game instead of me.

Similarly in the Premier League when I finished 5th with Newcastle United; I was ordered to qualify for Champions League, but I got fired because I didn't finish 4th. Yet, I saw Newcastle playing in the Champions League playoff spot.

The only mod I have is Doctor+'s gameplay mod and I only use his cl.ini file; furthermore, I've used Creation Master 16 to JUST install other boots. I've gone into the Creation Master 16 to see if I can make heads or tails about European qualification, yet I can't.

Is this is a game bug or a modding issue? I would greatly appreciate some feedback on this issue and thanks in advance!

hi i noticed something that i get this bug if when i start a career mode i set european football off in the first season then the following season the europa cup will not take place

i tested with it set to on at the start of my career then simulated to the second season and the europa league was there and also i was in the champions league play off round

set european football to on when starting a career even if your teams not taking part
