Juventus F.C. [2016-2017]

Senior Squad
Hey guys! It has been a LONG time since I posted. I hope everyone is well. I finally made it to a live Juventus game. It was on my bucket list since I was little. I was in Torino for about 5 days recently. I went to watch Juvetus vs Torino. I might have shed a tear or two when I heard the crowd singing "Juve!! Storia de un grande amore! Forza Juve guys! We are going for the treble this year! I've attached some pictures. I wanted to share this awesome experience with you guys!

Buffon, Chiellini and Marchisio all played in Serie B with Juve 10 years ago. A story like no other.

Juve has now signed Cuadrado permanently. There was a clause with an obligation to buy in case Juve won Serie A. Loved him in his new role in the new system this season, great signing.

I'm surprised Conte didn't want to try Cuadrado - he could have fitted that system and even if he preferred Moses, we lacked depth there. I was disappointed with the total money we got for him (I think 17.5m + 4m loan fee from last season), nothing in todays market (and i think even including the loan fee from the season before it was a loss on what we paid) and for that money I would have preferred to keep him for depth

Cuadrado himself pushed hard for a permanent Juve move last summer. If he didn't he'd still be at Chelsea I suspect. I think clubs generally listen to a player if they really want to leave, which also happened with Vidal, Pogba and Tevez at Juve.

We could have at least demanded Juventus or someone else match what we paid. those three you mentioned (unless you mean the tevez - boca transfer ) went against the clubs wishes maybe but at least for good money. Also they said the same thing about Courtois after his prolonged loan at Atletico and we still forced him to come back and made him happy with success.

Including the loan fees and potential bonuses Juve got pretty close to the 30M Chelsea paid for him. Maybe Conte didn't do enough to convince him it'd work out for him at Chelsea, especially with his heart set on a move back to Juve. Did Conte ever say anything about it? I think Courtois' future at Chelsea always looked brighter, it was pretty clear that he was going to be Cech's successor with his talent.

Anyway, Cuadrado was a perfect fit in the Juve squad from the start and he's popular with the fans. To me it seems like a good deal for all involved.

Haha, a good deal for you for sure. The story was that he didn't impress conte in preseason but that seems a little thin to me. I suspect when we did the weird 3 year loan we were trying to cozy up to juve in our (ridiculous) pursuit of Bonucci - even if we didn't want him I am sure we could have got more if we put him on the open market.

Great article, thanks for sharing! I'm so thankful the Juve board were able to convince him to join. What a champion. Juve's MVP in the knock-out stages of the CL too. Let's hope he wins the trophy for us.

Inevitable. I'm just glad it waited just long enough for fans to keep calling it Juventus Stadium, just like Dortmund fans kept calling their stadium Westfalenstadion instead of Signal Iduna Park.

The new logo has grown on me. It's no secret football clubs turned into marketing enterprises anyway.
