My old OLD laptop still has Excel, so I'm using that PC to convert, my new laptop has your mod and CM 16 installed on it, and my tower runs FIFA 18. No room on my desk for coffee even if I wanted one.

This tool looks great. In what order do I load everything into CM16?

I've converted successfully using excel. Now I have so many DB's flying about, every time I attempt to load one it gives an error.

EDIT: Do I need FIFA 16 installed to use this?

It's not working for me guys. I'm loading all files from 18_Import after running the tool.
Not knowing what you did or didn't do, my best suggestion is to troubleshoot by checking each step along the way. That's how I figured it out. After editing the 16 db in CM 16 and before converting, open the tables and confirm your edits were applied. Then after converting, check the 18 db for the same reason and purpose. This is how you can pinpoint where and in which step the editing process is breaking down for you.

I unclear though what you mean by "files to load from 18_Import." Then only file you need after converting is the squads file, just load it in the FIFA 18 settings folder and start the game. And the FIFA 16 game is not required.

i finaly made one working DB. I imported from a patch using CM16, so i overwrite fantasy players from brazil and working. It´s take a time to overright player by player. but now i understood a little how use this tool.
i need to make the playersnames.txt(16) to 18. dbmaster in 16_db.dx export playersnames and change commentary after playerid. I dont why but playersnames.txt not appears to me in your tool

A general bit of advice for anyone experiencing similar issues:

-First, copy and save Fidel's mod package in a folder somewhere, such as My Games/FIFA Files/Fidel Files.
-Next, paste a copy of his mod package onto your desktop. Do all your work there, using the files from the desktop copy.
-Another helpful tip: copy Fidel's readme instructions and paste them to your desktop for easy quick reference when needed. Cut the DBM_ECI_T folder and paste it on the desktop as well.
-If for any reason the editing process gets you so mixed up that you don't know which db is which, DELETE all folders and files from your desktop. Then paste another copy of Fidel's mod package onto your desktop, and start all over again.
-And don't start by editing everything. Start by learning how the process works. Do some test edits until you figure out the process, and it's working correctly. After that, you're ready to start your editing project.

If you're creating test dbs for the purpose of learning how the process works, then it doesn't matter if you get the dbs mixed up. You can just delete them all and start all over again. For me, the quickest test is to edit all players to 1 agility. It takes 10 seconds to do in Excel, and it's easy to check in-game. Load the squad file, click on one player, and if he's not 1 agility then you know your edits didn't work and that the process you followed wasn't correct.

Bangus, thanks for the advice big man. It's been a while since I've modded FIFA, all the way back in 15 with a non-league patch. I've lost my mojo.

Going at this again now with fresh eyes so we'll see what happens.

So running the tool again and the tool has generated 3 DB files. One in the main folder, one in /data subfolder and one in a squads folder. I assume I use the one in the root folder of "18_Import". So loading up CM I get asked for 3 files: .xml, .db and a language file. I don't see any language file.

I ran the tool "CM16DB18_FULL_0.6_[D+].exe" and let it complete successfully. I have about a dozen .txt files in the "18_Import" folder.

This sounds like where you are going wrong. Before you do anything, before you convert or look for db files, open CM 16. Click on Open - Select all to locate the db, xml and language files. Locate and highlight the CM16_DB_18 folder and they will load one at a time as you click on each.

Edit and save. Your edited db, the one you copy and paste (step 2), is in that same folder, CM16_DB_18/data/db.

I've loaded into CM and all is well. The only problem is I do not see any graphics in CM (no faces, kits, logos etc).

Bro you are opening the wrong db with CM16. Check and read my steps.
Read how to open with CM16 (section 1). Follow bangus tips.
Anyway this version is for expert users and fifa modders. Wait for tips in the forum.

Also working to an easy GUI to select tables to convert, select if patch or apply gp formula in players, etc.
before the import back.

To bangus and everyone, when you have the full project in cm16, save also you patch as cmp,
and in the future you can load and the CM will merge with any db.

You need fifa 16 files to see gfx preview, read my info from 0.1.
My tool+cm16 is a 18 database editor and not a gfx editor.

Also, one other issue, sometimes I don't see player last names in the editor. Is that another one related to me not having FIFA 16?
