There is only one problem, that I would like to be fixed if is it possible... Liverpool is constantly playing Firmino on LW, and Ings/Solanke as ST, Salah is on RW but Mane is always on the bench. I think it should be Mane on LW, Firmino as ST and Salah on RW, like in real life. Is it possible to change that ?

Lineups and position logic have mostly to do with players' 1-4 primary/secondary positions, and their overall rating. Unfortunately some of the logic is just broken. The AI will do things like insert a lower-rated ST in the ST position, over a much higher rated LW or RW. But then it will choose a high rated RM to play AMF, over a lower-rated AMF. Or the AI will often insert the bench GK if he is rated almost as high as the starting GK. In most cases the AI is only guaranteed to insert higher-rated players if they are rated at least 15-20 points higher.

It would take a ton of work to fix these issues, but I have done it with test teams. After many hours of experimental edits, I was able to force the AI to always select the exact lineup I wanted.

There is also a setting in the career files that supposedly forces the AI to select "best line up." But from my experience it has nothing to do with selecting "highest rated."

I'll give a short overview at least.

First, you have to remove players' preferred positions 2-4 so that all players have preferred position 1 only. Next, you need to check the exact positions listed in the formation. If it's 3 attackers, you need to find out if it's ST-LW-RW, or if it's 3 ST, or ST-CF-LW/RW, or ST-CF-CF, etc. You then have to edit your attacking players' preferred position 1 to correspond to those 3. However, in the case of say a 3 ST formation, the AI will randomly decide which of your 3 STs play where. Meaning, if you want 1 specific player to play on the right side, you have to change his preferred position 1 to RW, and then change the formation to ST-ST-RW.

And, to absolutely ensure the AI chooses him for RW each time, he must be the only RW on the team. OR, the other RWs on the team need to be rated 15-20 points lower than him. (This 15-20 points lower rule applies to most positions, especially the GKs, and it may even need to be up to 25 points lower.)

Anyway, there's more to it - stopping the AI from choosing MFs to play LB-RB for example. But you get the point.
