By now, I believe everyone saw the launch of the new nvidia gpu.
Although I did not wanted to believe, the average gamer was hit with cryptocurrency gold rush prices, meaning from 700 dollars up for a RTX 2080 and all this for that ray tracing bullshit that isn't even used still by games and same 8 GB DDR6 instead but overall, not a big upgrade from last generation. (not to mention 1000 dollars min. for the titanium).
Well, good luck to us, the gamers.

Price of 2080 will probably drop just like it did with 1080 and then 2080 Ti's price will drop to 700$ range. That is unless miners fuck up the price again, in which case there's no hope.

Anyway, regarding FiFA 19, I can't believe EA still couldn't fix their BS lighting. Why is everything dark as fuck. It's sad cause PES does have better lighting but everything looks stiff in PES [Cloth physics is almost non-existent, horrible animations during cutscenes, skating animations during gameplay and input lag with player movements nd whatnot]. If only they fixed their lighting, the game would look good.

I can't remember the last fifa edition that has good lighting. Perhaps 2014....
About the gpu's, I'm curious what will the third parties prices will be since it's known to be lower that the founders edition. We'll see on september 20th.

lol Fifa 14 had some of the worst lighting. Especially on the full version compared to demo.

Guys, those of you who have played fifa 19 beta, what's that new shooting system?
Does it mean that double taping the shoot button will no longer result in a low grass level shot? I hope they haven't changed that!

there is very little going for fifa 19 that makes me want to spend another £60 on it. I've played pes 2019 demo it's very solid as always, here's hoping that their career mode has improved.

My impressions of FIFA 19 is buy PES 19, I am. After a decade+ I have finally decided to abandon the FIFA series. This series gameplay wise never gets better. The only thing
that has really changed with this series over the decade+ I have been playing it is the engine, graphics, FUT and the player(s) and year on the cover.

PES simply looks good and even if they are having a bad year AI wise it is still better than FIFA. I'm so tired of having to heavily modify a game to play well with all these licenses. Now I can edit some graphics, fix up some data and play the game the way it should be played or at least as close as it possibly can play for a game.

With all PES new licenses less data and graphics need to be modified which is much better than the last few years. Data and graphics are a one time edit for PES while modding FIFA AI is a decade+ ordeal that I still haven't been able to fix.

Completely agree @regularcat ive just started modding pes 19 ai too and its very impressive what i can achieve. A lot of Fifa modders have gone over and some of the work is impressive. All kits and teams will be fixed in weeks. Im praying for a good career mode.

I am going to look into some textures so I can start making kits again and do a little work on the AI that doesn't appear to need to much work put into it.
I'll be in touch with you.

I say let's not jump to conclusions until the final products are released and have real comparation model. I don't think that long time fifa players will so easily migrate to pes just on the account of some frustration in recent years.
I tell you, I've been playing both games for some years and pes just does not have what it takes, it becomes very quickly borring and linear.
It's just like that RTX 2080 right? Nvidia acclaimed it as being 10x faster than previous gen, next huge leap but when the first independent benchmark came out, what do you know...surprise, only marginally better than gtx 1080 ti, which can be found nowadays for under 500 Euros as new products.

Your saying FIFA doesn't? I must be playing a different game.
It does, just not so fast as pes and, I don't know, fifa has that thing that makes it feel more real, I cannot find an exact sentence to describe it.
But again, it's just my point of view, maybe because I grew up with fifa.
Plus for fifa there are more game modes, it's just more fun to play overall although far from perfect and what could be.

For myself it is all about which game is closer to reality on the pitch. I don't really care about graphics which both games are very nice to look at. PES promotes modification of their game where FIFA makes it harder and harder every year. The structure of Frostbite maybe complex but I do believe if EA wanted you to mod they would have coded the game to be modded with less complexity. Any game gets boring over time which is why modding is so important. PES clearly has the more lifelike feel on the pitch as FIFA is designed to please the FUT players who prefer a more frantic gameplay. PES designs their gameplay to suit offline and online players because they realize that everyone who buys their game purchases for different reasons. I am tired of giving EA my money to put into FUT, a mode I refuse to play. Even though my cut of money alone isn't much it should still matter and I along with others who feel the same way should be given something other than a roster update year after year. I enjoy playing football games and EA has had my business for a decade+ and I have gotten nothing in return. Even if PES is complete trash I'd rather waste my money knowing they tried to please my needs in a game then give my money to EA knowing they go out of their way to keep me unhappy while attempting to convert me to FUT.

I might be making the switch to PES as well, tbh. I've barely played FIFA 18. Personally I enjoy RTG career modes but I haven't even made it past January in any of my saves. It's just too easy. It's too easy to score and I almost never concede. I've tried Paul's, Beta's and Fidel's tweaks but nothing seems to have a sustained impact. For example, sometimes the CPU defence will just let you dribble past and not be particularly bothered if you get in behind. It's just not realistic and doesn't feel like a challenge. Scoring a goal - the best feeling in football - doesn't feel like anything. Just 'meh'.

I'm still experimenting with sliders (in combination with locale.ini file changes) but don't expect it to solve anything really.

I'm with you man. I've decided to pick it up today. What I want from FIFA I can get from 18.

Guys. Stick with FIFA 18. PES 2019 is an absolute mess at the moment. I've wasted £40 on it, hoping they patch ASAP.

So, which one among those two are less boring? Yeah, PES is for sure a huge waste of money this year too, I bought it also and it can really be used as a boost to play fifa. You play pes one hour and after you do not complain about fifa for a few days and so on!:bwtf:
Preorder fifa 19 also and I have some expectations from it, like dynamic weather which is not heard from it recently. Is it just me, or fifa gets more expensive year after year?

I'd admit. My GP mod with FIFA 18 is far more enjoyable at the moment. PES 2019 full-game is nothing like the Demo and is simply broken from online to offline.

If I can get Steam to refund me (they refused my first attempt), I will put the money aside toward FIFA 19, if people here tell me its good that is. I tend to stay away from Pre-Ordering from now on.

And yeah. Its a rip off.

I'm not gonna lie, I love what FIFA18 feels like with certain modifications in place. But I've been playing PES2019 for two days now and it is in several ways, leaps and bounds above FIFA. They're different, but for the time being I see no reason to get FIFA19 because it won't be better than 18 with mods. And PES, again for me, is just too fun and too good.
