you know guys, after all these years, the hard work and the love for modding this game, I have started feeling fed up and kinda disgusted. I remember of a thread where people were wasting their free time in order to make something (no matter how small or big that was) and then unconditionally were destributing amongst the thread's users. and they were some happy times, when moders were making something and were eager to release it, so that they could share the satisfaction and joy they had while making it. but now, all I can see when browsing this same forum are not threads, but shops instead! you want a face? pay...sorry, "donate" and you'll have it. you want a stadium? "donation" is welcome. you want a boot? why don't you "donate"? no, I won't donate for something that has costed nothing. same as I didn't accept donations but once, because this way I feel like I'm cheating you. I make it because I like it. I release it because I like it even more. it's not my job, it's my hobby. I don't do it for money, I do it for my καυλάντα (greek guys will know). it doesn't cost me anything more than you, that will just download it and install it and that is free time. so NO, I won't be part of this whole situation and thus I won't release anything in my threads. people that will feel that I'm unjust and that I won't be contributing to the "community", I'll understand them if not willing to share their stuff with me.

mate i totally agree with you, i never ask for anything because I prefer to learn to modding alone rather than delegate my requests to others. The problem is that in these days having had the problem with the wipes and since there was no one who had given me an explanation, I tried to ask directly for it even though it was an unbearable choice for me and I would have preferred to do it alone. as you can see I also made a post to understand where I was wrong: http://www.soccergaming.com/index.php?threads/how-to-edit-wipes.6466490/. however you are totally right in this message

Mate that is crazy - I was starting to write exactly the same sort of message in my thread too - I’m gutted the community is starting to move in this way - I’d come to feel a lot of the people Ive communicated with over the years have become real friends even though I’ve never seen their face. But it all starts to feel very mercenary and I understand it takes time to create stuff but I personally do it when I get the chance, because I live modding and creating - even if it’s not to a quality as some people - I’m happy and proud of what I’ve managed to create.
I’m afraid maybe the only way now is to move away from this site in releasing and just connecting via discord or something to share. It’s sad I’m afraid and it really doesn’t have to be this way.

I have only joined this forum recently (a bit more than a year now) and it is true that the last months we have seen more and more modders asking for a retribution for their work, but it is still far from being the majority. I mean some of the most important contributors among which you belong with others such as kotiara, the wizard, scouser, no9rud, many kit makers (please don't feel offended if not on the list, I can't be exhaustive) and also really active and motivated relatively new members such as Wall, Rique1984 or Jhonny28ua to name a few are not asking for anything. Personally, I have no graphic skills but I am trying to "pay back" what I am gathering from others by sharing small contributions (that nonetheless took me weeks to build) based on my skills. After all, it is not what this community is all about? People trying to contribute based on their capacity/expertise/availability and as you said for the pleasure of sharing with others and not having to reinvent the wheel?

I think the community state on this forum is not as black as you are seeing it. May be just in a period of turn over.

But it would be quite dramatic if all experienced members like you would move away and keep their contributions for a couple of initiated members (or worst asking for money ;) ) and more importantly stop sharing their modding knowledge with newer members motivated to learn. Such a community if able to survive would have to start learning modding pretty much from scratch using fossilized archive like some sort of historian or Palaeontologist (I am derailing a bit sorry).

I don't want to influence your decision in any sort, it is your decision. But please keep in mind all the daily free small or big contributions from members of this forum. And don't see as a generality an asking for money practice that remains marginal and will be inevitably pushed out of the community because being in opposition with the philosophy of such a community.
