MORE CINEMATICS!

The more we have at the key moments, the more it feels like the camera men are paying attention and it REALLY adds to the authenity and also like you're not watching the same game over and over, lol. :crazyboy:

I also think that the stadiums could have bigger/smaller pitches, changing the way the game might play and the score line, depending on how long it takes to get to one end of the pitch to another!

Yep, Nick, you're damn right. But there is one little problem with all our suggestions. WILL EA READ OUR DAMN SUGGESTIONS?
That's problem, u know;)

Cheers mate and yeah, it's one of them things we have to think about...are EA actually looking at these forums?!?!?!

I think they will to an extent and if they really want to know what WE the gamers' want, then they should, without hesitation come into this thread. :)

I think we who've had the game since release and not since Christmas will be on World Class now. That's a big shame really, as this means that over a time space of about 2 months or so, we're already mastering the game. :(

EA, if you read this, make EVERYTHING GOOD BETTER AND EVERYTHING HARD, HARDER AND EVERYTHING EASY, HARD! :)

There you go. :crazyboy:

let u loose possesion how bad u play .......because it is computer controlled...........

But in WC2002.......it was different.....beating the computer

was very hard ...as well as getting more possesion.....

so i think if u get 70-30 possesion.....it cant be a good game

for a long period to play..as it does not happen in reality.

so......in 2004.....EA should improve gameplay and look

that we have to work hard for possesion..

It's not the fact of having no power bar for normal passes, but because the A.I doesn't close the player down good enough and for the fact that it is to easy to pass the ball around, as the players' aren't marked good enough. The player is indeed, given to many choices of where to pass and the A.I doesn't know/hasn't been programmed to be very clever with keeping/gaining possession of the ball, even on World Class.

If there was a power bar, then yep, Like FIFA 2002 and 2002 FIFA World Cup, you'd find it hard to gain/keep possession and get large amounts of it, but look at PES2, that has a very similar passing system to FIFA 2003 and the other/older FIFA games and look at how hard it is to pass the ball around. I think Iggy said something along these line and apologise if I'm repeating his words, but hey, PES2 really is very hard, but it might not BE the fact of passing the ball around and getting it easy for the gamer, but:

* The pitch is bigger then in FIFA 2003, so it takes longer to build up play, giving the A.I time to mark up and close down you, the player! :rockman:

* The A.I uses the skills that the player has open to them, unlike FIFA 2003 and past FIFA's where the player gets LOADS of skill moves, but the A.I only uses two of them!

* The A.I REEEEAAAALY tries to score and KEEP possession, in FIFA 2003, the A.I just goes for the sh*tty, quick goals, which aren't very great for keeping possession, though as a tactic, this is great, but to NEVER keep possession through-out in-game play and to not try and keep the ball and REALLY make the player work to get it back, SUCKS! :kader:

That's why I think FIFA 2003 is easy and I don't think it's as much to do with the auto pass as what it may seem, but the retarded A.I!! :)

MORE TACTICAL OPTIONS LIKE THE ONES THAT ARE available in the game "WINNING ELEVEN" (1-3-3-3, STOPPERS, PERSONAL MARKS, POSITIONS OF THE PLAYERS IN THE FIELD SO THEY CAN'T PASS A ZONE AT IT, ETC....)

That's good suggestion, but, people, WRITE MORE SPECIFIC SUGGESTIONS!
Why don't you read pages in this thread? You will see that something like your suggestion has been already written.

Thank You

arrrr, an idea already!

How about new running animations, which can be linked to fouling. For example:

If I run to the player with the ball and SPRINT, then I could actually knock him over and foul him, WITHOUT pressing any tackle buttons, as it will be because I ran straight at him! If he was a stronger player, then maybe something different could happen, like he'd stumble, or just get away!!

I think this would add to the realism. :)

Also, how about making it so loads of goals are possible to score, but the really great/complex ones are harder to do! :)

I also have an idea about the fouling system. I mentioned before about double bookings. I now feel this could be achieved at it's most powerful strength of tactical play and sports man ship from the players'. For example:

If one play fouls another and that player is going to be booked, the player fouled could press a button to start arguing with the referee and a bar will appear on the bottom of the screen, the more you argue the more chance the bar will increase (holding down the button), meaning you've got a chance of being booked, but it could depend on the referee strictness and the referee. So there could be a chance that the referee won't do anything. This would increase the realism a lot. This would result in a double booking if the bar goes to its max!

Also, what if the player that committed the foul wasn't going to be booked and the player that got fouled argued, this could result in the player fouled been booked! The players' team that was fouled would be rewaded the freekick though (I think).

And I always thought that the more animations and the more solid they are (no players' going through each other in-play/cinematics) then the more realistic the game would become! :D

i'm in general agreement here. however, i think the possession play is pretty realistic--a good team can keep possession with one-touch passes and the players move to space, pass back, etc. the aspect of the AI that needs a complete overhaul is the way players leave huge holes in the back to chase down the ball or even a player to mark. it happens for both the CPU and player teams. and you are right about the way defenders play WAY off the ball for no apparent reason at critical moments, leaving tons of space to turn and shoot unopposed at the goal. not at all realistic.

i would also like to see tighter marking and more 50-50 challenges that result in random deflections and loss of possession. sometimes a pass will ricochet off a player at about five times the original force but crunching tackles send the ball rolling a couple meters at most. EA should tighten up the marking, especially in the final third, and allow for a lot more scrambling and disruptive tackles.

i agree about the CPU keeping possession and attempting better build up. i tweaked some of the ini files to encourage more passing and i've seen an improvement, but it still seems like i concede some pretty cheap goals.

Tighter marking

I do agree with the idea above and I add that "tighter marking" should concern the defenders and the defensive midfielders only, to keep the gameplay realistic and playable. It would be a major improvement toward simulation.

Yes, that's exactly what i want, but EA did apsolutely other thing... And that's why i don't like to play that game cause i know that i will always have 62-38 (or more) ball possession and, of course win match, and of course on world class difficulty.

FIX THE ONLINE MATCHUP!!
It's really getting frustrated that, when someone is losing, he just can quit the match. That doesn't count as a loss for him. Nor with the restart match option, or with the exit to windows option you lose the points if you quit. It's really annoying, because if, for example, you score an early goal, your opponent immediatly restarts the match.

- So delete the restart match button for online games
- Make exiting a game count as a loss

If the possession was balanced then it would be realistic, but the A.I just DOESN'T want to keep possession at all! It's like they'll only keep possession (if that!) when it's 90 Mins and their winning or something gay like that.

They need more tactics for possession, I'm sure, no I KNOW you've seen real games on TV and I know that when you watch them you see all different kinds of moves and possession build up, some in ways, very exciting. FIFA 2003 just doesn't have the 'umph'. Sorry, but this is my opinion and I feel that they need to work on many areas of the A.I and sort out the easiness in the gameplay field. 6-2 on World Class is just to damn easy! I was Man-u AWAY against Real Madrid HOME. Every shot I had with Nistelrooy found its way into the back of the net!!!! :kader: I've only had the game for two months or so, how crap is that? Oh well, you might find/play it different, but either way...there's many gamers out there that have it the same way I do, easy match, after easy match, after easy match, VERY POOR!

EDIT: This match was played in the CC mode on World Class!!

Injured goalies, bookings and sending offs, etc.

skilled players should be able to round the goalie in one on one situations.

they dive at all players feets and win the ball! cant it run loose sometimes? superman is fictional so dont make the goalies fictional!! make them feel and look real!!

Yep, Nick. You're again damn right. I can see that you're experienced FIFA player like me, and you can see that World Class is too easy. If only EA could make a patch which could fix a tons of bugs... maby this game will be much better. But, from the day i bought FIFA, sometimes i click on: Check for update, it's allways: THERE IS NO PATCHES AT THIS TIME...
R they blind, stupid or laisy??

Thanks mate,

I think they're blinded by their own success. Becuase their game has beaten PES2 in sales and because they really like their game, they think everyone will think like wise, like it's the best and can't be beaten. NOT! :kader:

They don't need to remake the game, they just need some serious improvement to the A.I and easiness in gameplay!

You don't to feel sorry about what you said. It's true that argentinian league is far more attractive than k league. Good suggestion!
