btw, when i turned the options on i noticed that the shirt numbers of the players with the ball disappears. has this occured with anyone's fixes yet?

This is all Bull! This doesn't fix anything at all! I did everything that was told to do in this thread and i still get the lousy slow motion!!. I have AMD Athlon XP 1900+, a GeForce 3 Ti500, Soyo Dragon Plus motherboard, 256mb DDR with Win Me, and nothing worked! I even changed the detail level to "medium" and its still the same thing. I dont know what you guys actually think this worked. Its so stupid that this the only FIFA game that we have to edit the soccer ini file to make this bad programmed game to go smooth and yet we still get slow motion. I wish EA would get near bankrupt so that they will have no choice but to put their best effort into making this game!! We didn't have to edit no stupid soccer ini file in previous fifa games to go smooth, right!? and do you know why? because all previous FIFA games had no problems with choppiness and stuff. Ea Sports actually put more effort in fifa games (performance wise) than fifa 2003! Another thing is, why the hell they removed the "3D Setup" this year for FIFA!? maybe that is why we are having all these problems! who knows maybe i'm wrong, maybe i'm right, but i do know for sure that the 3D setup was a much more reliable program for display configurations than the current one in FIFA 2003 within the game options.

Game running smoothly ?? I did the change thing in the INI file and got slow motion so I put back the original INI file. I then just changed the option for graphics in game from HIGH to MEDIUM and the problem I had with the freekick/cornerkick meter ( the needle would jerk about and not complete it's full swing to top or bottom) disappeared. The graphic still look great in fact I can't see any difference. So changing the INI file was a waste of time for me, I just needed to adjust the graphics option in game to get it running smoothly.
