Help needed: Is it possible to beat Man Utd with Crystal Palace?

Hello, everyone.

I used to be just a FIFA series player but I decided to try out the world of management games with CM4 a while ago. This is my first message in this forum.

Heres a brief description of my situation. Any help would be wonderful.

I am playing English 1st Division with Crystal Palace. By using a balanced training schedule and grouping players in defenders and attackers I got the 1st place in the standings and also led Crystal Palace to the Round of 8 in a clash against Manchester United for the Wortington Cup (League Cup). I have beaten Arsenal in an earlier round (the one before the Round of 16), God knows why!

I am using a variant of 4-2-1-2 with hard tackling/long passing down both flanks in regular matches. When I won Arsenal by 1-0 I was using the attached tactics with short passing through the middle. But I tried to play one match with the same tactics against ManU and they won by 2-0. I decided to pause this game and come here to see if I have any hope.

Does anyone here have a good tactics for weak teams against strong ones? or should I go on and forget about the Worthington Cup?

Thanks in advance.

Why do Brazillians always have to do things the hard way? :|

Stick Ade upfront, and bring Black inside, Move Babangida out wide to the right with a run arrow running to SC.

I would try to play defensve/counter against Manchester United, maybe a Sweeper too.

Your 4-4-2 HH is a killer tactic too Gareth, I managed to kick Madrid's butt twice with Standard Liège :)

Surely it is possible the right tactics...

Just study the first half as much as possible then switch your tactics around at the break...

Doing this my Yeovil Town side managed to draw 0-0 with Real Madrid @ Huish Park 0-0.

Probably send it to Paul to stick on the tactics centre.

The actics in that picture i have always wanted to use but how do i get my tactics to be like that? Ive put my team in a 4-2-1-2 formation so how do i get it so my left and right back to come backwards and the two centre backs to move forward and the same for the strikers and the players on the right wing and left wing to come forwards and the player in the centre just infront of the defenders to move backwards?

I suggest that you take Dougie Freedman out of midfield, hes an all-out striker, I think placing him the heart of the midfield is ludacris :crazyboy:
