    Soccer Writers - Anyone intersted?

Would you interested in South American related articles, particularly in regards to the Libertadores or the Uruguayan league? I should be able to manage a couple of articles, at least until I get a full time job.

There's a big **** off spider in your room, do you...

I kill it. My modus operandi is to softly smack the surrounding wall with a piece of footwear (I'll use what's at hand, though I prefer a slipper) to instill fear into the victim. Once it perceives the threat and attempts to flee I bring the slipper down on it at full force. I then peel the...

The 2008 SoccerGaming Awards ::: Nomination Round

Screw this, I nominate myself for everything, you ******* lot of ungratefully pricks. Happy new year by the way.

    Copa Libertadores 2008.

The qualifying round is simply an excuse to add more Argentinean and Brazilian teams without automatically taking away quals spots from other countries while at the same time making some more money. From a sporting perspective, it adds nothing to the competition. I'd scrap it. It happens...

Jose Mourinho is back on track - on Setanta Sports...

"You can text the show, special premium rates apply I think, maybe ₤10 per text, I think, so do it, why not?" "Are you happy with new England coach? We have to return the England team to former glories, so, if you want to make sure that England go out after agonizing penalty shoot-out at...

    Copa Libertadores 2008.

An intense case of spontaneous laughter caused me to stop reading your post after this sentence. Knowing you though, I don't think I'm missing anything important. That would be ideal. It would be interesting to see how it'd work in practice.

    Copa Libertadores 2008.

It's actually just Nacional, or Club Nacional de Football for the full name. No one calls it Club Nacional, and would actually make it confusing if we did, as there is a "Club Nacional" (that's it's full name) in Paraguay. I don't know if going back to 2 teams per nations is the best answer...

    Top 10 Players Ever...Your vote!

I believe he plays Showbol on occasions... Since you've already mentioned The Black Wonder and The Marshal, you should also add Héctor Scarone, The Magician, another pillar of the uruguayan NT of the time. He retired from the NT after the 1930 World Cup because he felt he was getting too old...

Surprise, Surprise....Brazil to host 2014 World Cup

Supposedly in 2030, but I can tell you right now it's not gonna happen. I think it'll be difficult for Uruguay to qualify at all, let alone make the final. CAFO has been working on improving the Centenario this last year, particularly for the WCQs, painting, repairing damaged seats, etc, but...

Surprise, Surprise....Brazil to host 2014 World Cup

Revenge? You would need to beat us in a World Cup Final at the Centenario for that. And we both know that will never happen, since there's no way in hell Uruguay will ever host another World Cup, so... Take care.

Surprise, Surprise....Brazil to host 2014 World Cup

Another upset by Uruguay in the final then? We'll let you win 2030 if you let us win 2014.

Surprise, Surprise....Brazil to host 2014 World Cup

Argentina wanted to do a joint bid with Chile, but I think Blatter shot them down. They also say Argentina and Uruguay want to do a joint bid for 2030 ( ). Colombia had a bid too, but they backed out. Blatter said the current rotation system would hold until 2014, but I've heard that...

Surprise, Surprise....Brazil to host 2014 World Cup

It all depends on what FIFA decides to do with the rotation system. I'll be genuinely surprised if they pull 2014 from Brazil though.

    Copa Sudamericana 2007

Speaking about the actual cup as opposed to the Uruguayan liguilla, I'm glad to see Defensor performing well. They haven't felt the absence of the several important players (Maxi Pereira, Alvaro González, Gonzalo Sorondo, Martín Cáceres, Fernando Fadeuille, Carlos Díaz...

    Copa Sudamericana 2007

I've only seen this now, so sorry for not replying. The national champion (Danubio), does qualify directly to the Libertadores, but not to the Sudamericana. That's why they participate in the liguilla, to qualify for the Sudamericana. There are plans this season to eliminate the liguilla...
