2 keepers?

This happens to me every time I start a tournament - after 3 or 4 games it starts changing my squad automatically and puts in 2 keepers, one in goal and the other out on the field in some position or other. Then if I try to put in a different player it won't let me because it says I can't sub a regular player for a keeper - even if it's in midfield or something.

Anyone else have this happen? Know how to make it stop?

I've had this happen to me in FIFA 2004 but not EURO 2004

i've had this happened, i just pressed escape a couple times, went back into the line-up screen, then went to the game, and it was fixed

Thanks, but that does not work for me. I even played the game with Buffon in goal and Toldo at center-back and can't sub even after the game starts. The funny thing is the other team keeps shooting from midfield because the AI thinks the goalie's way out of the goal. Then at the end of teh game I go to team managment and it's OK but then at the last click before the game it happens again.

This happens because one or more players of your usual start-up roster is not available (injury, suspension etc). The game just throws the first player on the bench to fill the gap, and that's usually the goalie.

To fix the problem, always check the team news screen for unavailable players. Then replace them in the team management screen and play.

I wondered that a lot until I managed to figure out, it was annoying.

2 goalkeepers!!!

... Ok... there are some sugestions to fix the problem... but sommetimes this happens with the cpu teams... what would you sugest then... since we don't have permission to adjust team management of the cpu teams...

The problem is - I have no unavailable players - at least not ones that are in the starting 11 or even the bench. Somehow it takes one of my starting players out to substitute for a guy who's not even on the bench, and then moves the goalie up. I thought maybe I could get the goalie off the bench or further down, but I can't even seem to do that. I'm baffled.

hapened to me last night for about 3/4 times... just went backwards and thats it!!! problem solved...

i have the same problem when i play home and away i use ireland then someone got send off in the first leg then the second leg the sub goalkeeper is replacing the one who got sent off earlier , it automatically fill the position with the goalkeeper i wonder why this happen........

I ended up doing a complete uninstall/reinstall and now it's not happening. Nothing else worked though.

Maybe I should have left it, I would never lose a game.... the other team always shot from midfield thinking the keeper was out of the goal
