Canada 6 - 0 Finland

This is probably the most stacked Canadian Jr lineup i've ever seen. The top 3 forward lines can be 1st lines on any team. The odd forward out is Cory Perry  That just shows the depth this team has.

Canada really has no excuses for winning this tournament, they have the best team by far, hopefully they live up to my expectations. BTW, Bergeron is on the team! He was on the World Championship team that won gold and he's only now playing for the jrs. I don't think a player has ever played for the WC team first and then played in the World Jrs.

Flyer, don't get too happy about all of the Philly players, if the strike goes on to next year, all of the players who didn't sign(ex. Carter) go back into the draft and the Flyers lose them. :funny:. Calgary signed Phaneuf in the last minute under the old CBA, good move because he's probably the best player in this tournament.

I'm going to shinny tommorow at 9am, I'll post again when the tournament starts up.

yeah, Canada has no excuse this time around. Anything but winning the championship will be looked as a failure.

Just before the lockout, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman assured teams they would not lose the rights to their unsigned prospects.

Canada 7-3 Slovakia

got sloppy after being up 5-1, but recovered towards the end... at least this will wake Canada up so they dont get too cocky

Bergeron + Crosby = (H)

Canada let up in the game which was disappointing. I was really disappointed by the Stewart-Richards-Dawes line. Everyone came into the tournament praising them and expecting big things, but they were invisible. They better wake up for tommorow.

Flyer, I'm telling you what Bob McKenzie said on TSN before the lockout. Bettman can't guarantee that the prospects rights will be maintained by their team. It's still unclear which is why the Flyers(Clarke) shouldn't have been dumbasses and should have signed them before the CBA expired. Gotta show respect to Sutter in Calgary for signing Phaneuf before the deadline, losing him would have been devastating.

If there's no draft(pretty much guaranteed) then the jr players apparently become unrestricted free agents and can sign wherever they want. Crosby a Leaf? haha, it's possible I guess.

BTW, anyone watch the Spengler cup? Canada beat Russia today.(H) It has the atmosphere of a soccer game but for a Hockey game. Awesome tournament.(Y)

well i dont know what to believe right now. but as long as their flyers property, im gonna root for them.

and i saw the Canada-Sweden highlights, Mike Richards had some really nice plays and looks like his line really stepped it up.

USA lost 5-3 to Belarus, embarassing. After being down 5-1 they decided to pick it up in the third period, but didn't do enough. They can still win the group if they win tomorrow against Czech. Rep.

Canada beat Finland again. This is looking like the best Canadian jr team ever assembled. Phaneuf is a god damn monster, I'd be terrified to be on the ice against him, the second you put your head down, he crushes you. He KILLED someone and got a ridiculous penalty for a blow to the head. What he should've got was 2 mins for being too strong.:D On the other hand, I'd skate circles around Shaun Belle, he's not impressing me at all, terrible giveaways, luckily his teammates have helped him out

The offence on Canada is crazy, Bergeron is toying with everyone in the tournament. Hopefully Canada doesn't take any nights off and wins the tournament by the same kind of scores.

The US lost again, they finished second in their group now. I seriously hope we play the US at some point.

Like I said, if we keep playing like this, the tournament is Canada's to lose.(H) :rockman:
