They had one good game. Sorry but you're ignoring a rather shocking result:

Argentina 1-0 Jamaica.

Argentina is probably going to win the tournament since Chile is going to implode in the final. But Argentina has not been as convincing as they should have been. The tournament was there for them to take. Brazil was rubbish - you could see that coming from a mile away. The Argies should be winning every game by 3 or 4 goals - they're NOT.

Regarding Messi, he's without doubt the most dominant club player of last 25 years with countless trophies and goals ... but it's hard to ignore his failure at national level as well as lack of goals ...

Well, he didn't play much in World Cup 2006, but his record is really poor based on his reputation.

I think Zidane, Ronaldo, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the best players of the last 25 years. Zidane and Ronaldo had more success in International competitions, Messi and Cristiano had more success in club competions. You can argu Zidane and Ronaldo had better international colleagues compared to Messi and Cristiano, but same can be said about Messi and Cristiano's club level teammates.

Maybe this debate can be the next question of the week's question, international legacy vs. Club legacy. Messi club record is great, but so is Ronaldo's international resume:
