I never read any info that Ariel wanted to create 2GK2S. If I read such info, I would never spend hours editing the files, if would be easier to wait until Ariel releases it I have much work with creating kits, flags, badges, adboards, balls,...... for my upcoming Czech Super Patch (as I already did for FIFA99 and FIFA2001)

You cannot compare editing of the BIG files and creating quite new software as the FEd series programs by Chau Le are. This only shows that your system status ir correct: Being stupid.

Due to request of XB and Ariel, i have removed Lukas Svoboda's 2GK2S patch from our FGN-DC. Sorry for any inconveniences caused..... but now the matter is settled and all is history. So let's get on with it

Gareth is right.. this whole who owns what business is pretty useless... EA OWNS EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!! (except the utilities like Raptor, and whatnot).

I've also got to say that I also never heard Ariel was making a 2 or 4-sleeve kit... in fact I would've laid money that he WOULDN'T have made them based on everyone's stubborn attitude. _I_ expected a propoganda war of 2GK vs. 2S.... and I'd bet Lukas thought the exact same thing.... I highly doubt that he's scanning sites looking for something to rip off.

Lukas just did what I hoped someone would do. He's neutral, he put in the work and he bridged the gap between. He gave EVERYBODY credit, and he created 2GK2S (which actually works.. which is something I've YET to get 2GK4S to do... no matter how many fixes I seem to download and advice I read, and I dont' think I'm alone).

Oh.. and El_GaLLo, technically Lukas didn't reverse-engineer anything. He took what was there and ADAPTED something new. Ariel did a great thing, BUT, he only looked at EA's file structure and ADAPTED it. He holds zip all copywrights on it. Same for Yj. To do so, Ariel would have to create an entirely new kit structure, not hjbx hjfr or any of it. Of course he'd probably have to create a game too... since it wouldn't work in FIFA.

Saying something like Lukas should reverse-engineer FEd is just silly. First of all the scope is entirely different from making some adjustments to EA's files, and second of all.. Chau actually DOES own the copyright to FEd. It doesn't use EA's own files, it's a utility program, and unless Chau releases the code (which I HIGHLY doubt) to the public domain, he can't.

Oh and XBaez thanks for the reply... it's really too bad that Ariel doesn't make an attempt to speak himself.. but I can say that there are elements around here that would make fun of any grammatical errors he might make. Which is too bad. I speak Korean and French (and some say English), but I doubt I'd want to try to defend my position on a controversial topic in a forum at FIFA Korea either, so it's understandable. Of course on the other hand, I don't have half a forum waiting to hear what I have to say either...

I love the idea of 2gk2s kits. I´d also love to get hold of the 2gk2s files. But since this conversation keeps swaying from one side to the other, it starting to look like i won´t. In the 5-8 hours I sleep per day, someone manages to upload the files to their site AND take them off it because of all the whining that it causes.

I promised myself that I wouldn´t say anything about this matter (like anyone actually cared), but one thing has to be said: You shouldn´t make patches/files because you want all the thanks for it, it should be made for everyone in the fifa community.If the patch/file is good, you will still get the credit for it.I might be wrong,but it seems like the 2gk creators just want to stay on their throne...

Both YJ, Ariel and I agree, that our kits (2S, 2GK and 2GK4S) are more than enough already.
If Lukas promotes the 2GK2S kits, the only think that he will do is force us to release the 2GK2S kits (as Ariel mentioned with the captain band), and we don't want to release three kit formats in less than one month.

Therefore, I don't see why Lukas is making such a dispute about his 2GK 2S kits. What if he posts his kits in his page, post the URL of that page in the SG forums?
I think he will have more than enough people testing his kits and posting their comments about it.

Now, lets say that Ariel, edits the cinematics of the game for 2 weeks. Lets say that he edits 40 cinematics, and changes the intro of the game so that the team will take a picture before each match. Now, lets say that we release that (obviously we do not and have not mentioned that we own any file that was originally in the game), however, it wouldn't be nice to see, for example, Lukas learning how to do the cinematics, and INSTEAD of doing cinematics from a scratch, he uses Ariel's 40 previous cinematics, aggregates one or more cinematic to his patch, and publish that patch in a commercial website.

Now, Lukas, there wouldn't be anything wrong with that, however, we understand that both Yj and Ariel would prefer their kits not mixed up, why?
Well, let me tell you why
Because, people from Soccered, told us, not to use the 2S kits in our pages NOT because they own those files, but because it was their idea and we want the authors to be respected in the scene. Therefore, if Lukas sends the 2GK2S files to soccered, both ariel and I think that Socceraccess will not be permitted to have those 2GK2S files, why?
The same reason as before, because those files are a mix between the 2GK and the 2SL sleeves.

So in summary I don't see why Lukas doesn't publish his 2GK2S kits in a free server like geocities and use this forums to promote his stuff, we don't want him to think that we're doing what we can to stop him editing the game, that is absolutely false.

We just thought it would be unfair SA not to have the permission to use the 2S kits because Robert from Soccered clearly told us not to use 2S kits.

Yeh go for it Lukas. But XB, Robert didn't say any other sites can't use 2S kits. I allow everyone to make and release 2S kits, but the player.big file has to be downloaded from Soccered and not hosted by any other site. Geddit? I'm sure 2GK is also the same

Your little 'copyright' craps are boring...the goal of patching a game is to make it better and to serve the community, so we can unify our works to make the game even better, but what some guys do is moaning because they think they have the copyright about something they even took from someone else (EA) that is REALLY copyrighted...these guys only want to be recognized and to have their names in dl centers...which IMO is very lame, childish and certainly selfish...you don't serve the community, if you don't make those crappy fights, the patches would be even better, all you do is hurting the community, you try to divise it when it's upposed to be united...

I think Ariel maybe not be online for a while, as Argentina is in a state of civil unrest at the moment. If you don't watch the news in Argentina the economy figures were released and the country is found to be in billions of $ in debt and people are rioting and looting and withdrawing their accounts (in fear of the Government stealing their money) and many companies have shut down.

While I agreed that this debate is getting out of hand, this kind of thing happens. How do you think AMD first started making their CPU, by copying Intel. That is one example. There are countless cases of these kinds of intellectual properties theft. ZePenguin, I know that you are working on a CL patch for PES2. After all the long hours of spending on the patch and then made it available for download. Someone comes along and takes some part of your patch, let's say the Arsenal bin and tex and claim that as his and then include that in another patch. Would you be pissed? I would. I am not saying that Lukas steal anything because his ideas was to make 2GK and 2S compatible. And he did ask for the permissions of both Ariel and Yj. I am saying that if you are an author or inventor of something, you would want to have credit for it instead of someone stealing it and claiming it to be his own.

I think the best way to stop Patch Pirates (that can be their new name) is to not show anyone your patch, or distribute in sections. Simply do what I am doing with my NSL patch, nodody by the 2 makers have the files, well Sam has only kits I have all the rosters, badges, adboards etc and nobody will get them until the patch is released, stopping Patch Pirates is a major concern of mine after somebody copied my NSL patch last year and even had the balls to include my own screenshots in their description.

First of all, these author's issues can just be explained as the normal and completely understandable desire of each person to figure out as the author of its creations.

However, I think people would rather have boards talking about support, tech help, comments than about who owns who.

About Lukas 2Gk2S kits, well he's promoting them in his site so I don't see any problem with that

Let me indroduce first.My name is Dimitris anb i'm partner of Lukas in http://europeanclubs.host.sk and in ECP creation.I'm 37 years old and i'm ocuppuing with fifa just for fun and me and Lukas dont ern money from this.I have to say that i know Lukas a lot and he is an excellent person who loves fifa and also a great patcher.Also couse i have study in a law school (its not my job but this doesnt matter)i have to say that the whole matter is bull****.Why?

Because the main problem of a patcher (i'm patcher since fifa 96) is the piracy.When we talk piracy we talk for stolen files that the other one use as he says that belongs to him.This is piracy and this unforgiven.BUT .....here is a but ,if someone use some of my files or my whole patch and say that those files were made by me,Lukas etc etc there is not piracy.He gives credits.The matter is the credits so know everyone who made the patch or the files , what is the home page of those files so visit and download others too.This is advertisement.FIFA community must have a share feeling and not a "lock" feeling )

Lukas use the 2s essential of YJ and he says 2s essentials belongs to YJ , also use 2gk technique of Ariel and says 2gk belongs to Ariel , where is the problem?Why should this files be in your page ?Lukas is Gentleman and give Credits THATS ENOUGH to stop this converstion right now (its a matter of speak ok?) .

Let me give an example.YJ makes a wonderfull Old Trafford.When he releases the Stadium he gives it to people to use it as they want.People can use it in their patches AND give credits to him and his page (this gonna make when he will release his Old Trafford).

Other example , ECP team (Me , Lukas , Sergei etc etc) we are gonna release a CL patch.We have make the kits and for have our exclusivity we keep the kits in our hard disc and we are gonna release them (by the way excellent kits) with the patch.BUT since we release them VERYBODY can use our files even to their patches SINCE they give credtis to us and our home page.Is that enough?

The problem is the Credits all the others are bull****s as i said before .You cant lock files and have exclusivity since you dont own EA files.Me , you everybody are illegal since we dont have the permission to use EA files but we use them and give Credits to EA .Its the same guys , WAKE UP )
