So I installed the Best of Fifa 06 patch. Today, I decided to download some of the sound packs, which apparently are compatiable with said patch. So I spent all day editing them in soundmaster. Finally, it was time to go and try them out. And guess what happens? I click the Fifa 06 icon, the screen goes black, as if it were loading, and then the game goes straight to desktop. I'm so pissed off!!

If you want to restore your Fifa06 to the point before you added the sound packs then simply restore the original audio.big and chants.big in your fifa06/data/audio folder.

I managed to get it working again. I think I had too much sound or something. However, I deleted the ICP Commentary patch, thinking it may not be compatiable, and now it's wiped all the commentary! I managed to get all the players back, but I've no idea how to get the rest of it back without reinstallng the game, and that is something I wish to avoid like the plague.

Those are all the dat*.big in fifa06/data/audio where * is a language (e.g. eng for english, fre for french ect)
Replace those files with the original ones and your commentary should be back, if not you will have to restore the file audio.big also as I told you (not the chants.big which contains the chants you imported) but then you will have to link the chants to the game with sound master again.
It baffles me still why some authors make their stuff incompatible between each other, yet begin to cry when someone releases a coherent compatible patch regrouping everything, should they be more open- and community-minded, things like you experienced here as a user demanding only his Fifa game wouldn't crash or screw itself up like it did, wouldn't happen for users ever again.
But I guess it's the famous overprotective n00b syndrome lol, people will grow up and learn one day though, one can hope.
