Well, the first trophy of the season is here! Although there's all this talk of Cassano leaving, IMO Robinho should be the one to go, or definitely warm the bench for 90% of the season and come in for Pato or Ibra, and he should never again play as a trequartista, this was never more evident than today. Milan needs a monster in the middle of the park, everything else is perfect.

Gattuso needs to be replaced, Bommel is fine, Boateng too, but only as a midfielder as a #10 no, and Ambro and Seedorf should play 40% of the time.

Looking forward to Milan getting this unnamed midfielder, and I hope he's a modern player with both power, stamina, defensive intelligence and playmaking abilities, my best hope is someone like Schweinsteiger, but even Montolivo can do, Hamsik would be great though.

ćao deni!

it's only early August, and Milan are already Super Champions ... :borat:

hopefully the win doesn't mask the problems ... the second half was much better, but I still have real problems with the tactics ...

yeah, given a fully fit and rested squad, I'd start Pato and Cassano in a 4-3-3, with Robinho[od], Stephan El Shaarawy, and Super Pippo coming off the bench ...

yup, Allegri needs to pick only one destroyer, NOT both -- one is needed, fine; but neither can pass, and it kills any chance of playing possession football if they're both on ...

yes again! he's combative midfielder, not a creative one ... he needs to be on the right side of a midfield 3, NOT in the hole ...

haha, well Seedorf was sublime in the second half ... he just needs to be given more room to roam, and not bogged down on one side of midfield like in the first half ...

I'd be happy with Mr. M, and no Mr. X ... Basti's going to be too expensive, methinks ... Montolivo is the one I want to see signed now ... Marek next summer ...

Thanks, well, it really was a while :)
It's going good, we're giving it our all, it sometimes isn't enough as other things must align, but we mean well with the music we create so that's enough for me to fell happy with what I do :)

I agree with everything, I maybe sounded critical of Seedorf I am actually amazed by him this year, ever since 2011 started he's been brilliant.

Also, many may think it's weird saying this but, even though Pirlo was with Nesta my favourite Milan player, I'm kinda glad he left.

He's lost an awful lot in the last couple of years, and now his weakness, his low mobility, low physical strength and sometimes passive approach to the games relying solely on his long balls, plus maybe the biggest problem of Pirlo and that is Him and Gattuso together being one perfect complete midfielder.
For many years I've watched Milan rely on the two of them in the midfield complementing each other, the problem is, Gattuso has ZERO quality attacking and PIRLO has ZERO denfending. And that was good when they where in their primes, but when declining, they where taking two places in Milan's midfield to do the work of one player.

Van Bommel has most certainly replaced Pirlo, but he has also replaced Gattuso. I'm not saying Bommel is anything close to Pirlo in his playmaking, but he's certainly more complete than Gattuso, and relying on players that are good on both ends of the pitch as opposed to having a Kaka' and a Mashcerano in your teams midfield is the future of football.

Players like Boateng, Khedira, Essien, Schweinsteiger, Hernanes, Montolivo, De Rossi and Van Bommel, of course playmakers that are still hard workers Gerrard, Sneijder and Modric those are the perfect midfielders, and this is something that we can learn from Mourinho as he always makes his players work on both ends of the pitch and in this regard Gattuso and Pirlo are obsolete, while Seedorf can still play, as he's shown on a lot of occasions that he has the grit to roll up his sleeves and work, Ambrosini is also a great player and greater than Gattuso for me. In my opinion these players are superior because then you can have someone like that occupy all of your positions in the midfield, and a collective effort both defending and attacking is more effective than relying of the genious of one man, be that attacking like Kaka' or Pirlo or defending like Gattuso.

Milan has taken this route now, it was obvious to me last year when they took Boateng, and even more so when they got MVB and later gave away Pirlo without a problem. The thing is they must finish the job and put Gattuso on the bench by getting a top midfielder in this mould. IMO Hamsik would be great. But even Montolivo would be perfect. But to be honest the need two players. Someone to push Boateng from the #10 spot and someone to push Gattuso out of the first 11. A combo of Aquilani and Montolivo would be a dream signing as they're obviously talented enough to play for Milan and they're Italian, so that really gives them an advantage. Plus Aquilani is still a player that unlike for Pastore or Ganso who Milan are linked with still gets dirty defending while the later two wait for the attacking phase of the game. IMO only Ibra should be given this luxury in Milan, and rightly so, but even he showed last year that defending as a team is important, IMO his chasing to get the ball back last fall every game was the thing that instilled winning mentality into this Milan. And that's why Pirlo was shipped out to Juve, and I say thank you to the best deep-lying playmaker ever but also with all due respect, also thank you for moving on.

so, all 3 summer signings are out injured till mid-September at least, and Uncle Fester has just confirmed another injury-prone player ... they're all very good, they're all very necessary, and they're all unavailable ... oh the irony!

Lol Xifio, we only need Kaka' back now don't we? :)

Jokes aside I'm really happy with the Aquilani purchase, IMO he's the perfect player for Milan, he's mobile, he has the brains and the legs, perfect! NowI'm waiting for Montolivo instead of Kaka', believe me i'd rather play:

Aquilani

Montolivo Boateng
Bommel

Than
Kaka'

Aquilani Boateng
Bommel

I just hope we don't end up leaving it like this:

Aquilani

Boateng Gattuso
Bommel

Ok, I went overboard with formations I know :)
(And I know that there's Seedorf, but i'd use him as a sub)

Aquilani is good but he is very injury prone.

I think Kaka needs Milan more right now, he barely can play in Real.

If Montolivo comes, you'll have lots of options and good players in Midfield.

Kaka is a player for a europa league team or Brazilian league, Milan is supposed to be in elite.

Kaka is ****, you watched him yesterday? what a shadow of his former.
a change of motivation does strange things to people ... a return to Milan could spark him back to life; or maybe he is in fact broken forever, like Sheva was ... only one way to find out: loan deal! haha

Aquilani's talent is undoubted, but his fitness is a always a doubt ... however, if this is to be the season where he stays injury-free for the season, then it is indeed perfect!

if Max insists on a 4 man midfield, then this is definitely what I want to see:

but it looks like Fiorentina don't want to sell within Italy, which means Montolivo won't arrive till 2012 ...

that being the case, I think Allegri should switch to 4-3-3, with Cassano trequartista behind Zlatan and The Duck ... in midfield I'd like to see steel and substance whenever possible: Gattuso/Van Bommel as the destroyer, Prince as the combative shuttler, and Seedorf as the creative link to attack ...

I was reading a news that EA Sports wants Kaka to stay with Real for now becuase they did lot's of marketing with Kaka as a main character in Real shirt.

They had to adjust things before like when R10 joined Milan or Brett Favre joined the Jets, so it wouldn't be anything new.
