Yeah well done. Everything now depends on Wednesday, if we win there we might still have a chance. To be honest, though, I still see PSV laming it to the title, like last year.

I have the same feeling actually but we'll see how it goes on wednesday.
Great hattrick for LUIS today and of course another goal from Klaas-Jan (Y)

No gabri :(

Gabri will not be able to play due to his injury that he sustained yesterday against Willem II (hamstring).
That's bad news because Gabri is important in midfield, I wonder how AK is going to solve this problem, Davids, Perez and Lindgren probably..

Damn, more bad news. Siem de Jong won't be able to play tomorrow and Gabri is probably out for the rest of the season. It's especially sad that we're going to miss Gabri in the coming matches, he's one of the more influential players in our squad that could really help winning the upcoming difficult matches.

More bad news, guys. Ajax.nl is just reporting Stekelenburg won't be playing against PSV aswell tomorrow. :(

What the hell!! :kader:
Stekel can't play, Gabri out for the rest of the season, Siem out unbelievable this :(
Let's hope we can beat them anyway with the squad that will be on the pitch, I'll bet that Gentenaar will be our goalkeeper then, he's good but not as good as Maarten.. or wasn't he injured as well??

A bit of luck is that Afellay won't be able to play against us since he sprained his ankle today but that's not 100% certain.

The season's over, we lost against FC Twente away and there is no way we will pass PSV. The first half was terrible, the 2nd half was better but we gave away the goals much too simple :(
Nothing this season: no title, no cup NOTHING I'm really pissed off about that so let's hope Marco can turn things around (:/)

Thanks to Wesley, HtC, Luka Modric, Uri Coronel and El Salvador for this wonderful season.

Actually it can already be decided next week. If we lose to Heerenveen and PSV wins to NEC(and this can happen pretty easily) the title goes to the farmers again. Let's now just make sure we end up fifth so we atleast have european football(jesus christ, I sound like a FC Utrecht supporter)

Let's hope we can hold on to atleast some key players next summer, although it seems certain that Johnny and Klaas are going to leave. If they decide to stay I bloody hope they're not going to celebrate it with champagne and a press conference for they'll be sold the next week. Hopefully San Marco has what it takes to find some good replacements.

Well according to Ajax they can go and find other clubs, Mitea already moved back to Romania (dinamo I think) and Ogararu will be next. He played in midfield last sunday (for crying out loud)

You were right Zlatan, Heitinga is about to sign a contract with Atletico Madrid (career suicide if you ask me) for 5 years so he leaves in the summer.
Too bad and I'm sure Klaas Jan will be leaving as well for Italy, Spain or England...

Mitea has the talent but not the body for professional football. Pity.
Ogararu is a decent backup for Silva.

Gourcuff to Ajax??

Media reports that van Basten wants to get Yoann Gourcuff for Ajax next season!
He doesn't play much for Milan, Marco wants to use his contacts in Italy and now he's doing so with this..

I won't mind if he comes to Amsterdam cause he's a great player (Y)
This guy is an assett for any team!

Starting XI
Wow, that actually seems very likely to happen seeing how closely related Marco is to Milan and how Gourcuff doesn't even play much...

I hope you guys will turn him into a superstar as you've done to countless other players! :amika: (Y)

Well Gourcuff wants to think about it personally I don't think it's going to happen but we'll see..

GREAT WIN AGAINST HEERENVEEN TODAY (Y)

0-1 Suarez
0-2 Perez (P)
1-2 Sulejmani
1-3 Hunter
1-4 Hunter
2-4 Pranjic

Fantastic header from Klaas Jan when he scored his first goal, two men were flanking him and yet he managed to score a great header.
Suarez was very important with his goal and the assists on Hunter (twice)

Even better is that psv didn't win against NEC so they only get 1 point for their efforts.

We did what we had to do and that's maintain our 2nd spot and with a deserved win as well :)
Hunter climbs the ladder on the golden boot scale again with another 2 goals making his total this season 29 and the season's not over yet.

Next week de Graafschap at home should be a sure win with more goal(s) for Klaas Jan.

Guys, I'm really starting to get confused with the decisions the Ajax staff makes. Just yesterday they decided to give the sack to Groenendijk who's a hard working assistant who could've been really useful in the youth academy once Marco and his staff enter next season. Now this is even more strange. Willem II's topscorer Rydell Poepon, who's been playing his first full season on loan at a difficult relegation fighting club, doesn't have a future anymore at Ajax and has been told to go. I mean alright he might still have a lot to prove, but when Klaas leaves I think we need every talented striker we can get. This is a disgrace.

It's strange I agree, Poepon is a great player but not the replacement we should look for when Klaas Jan leaves. Martina (topscorer in Ajax2) signed a new contract and next season he plays for the first team. I think Martina is better than Rydell Poepon but that's my opinion.
As far as Groenendijk is concerned I agree totally it's a big mistake cause he's great with the Ajax-youth.
Fontein signed for AZ, Scheringa still has the illusion that they can become better than us hahaha yeah right enjoy the 12'th spot Dirk :amika:

We signed a new 10 year deal with Adidas and they will spend 70 Million in this time to sponsor Ajax AND our new headsponsor will be Aegon and that's one of the biggest deals signed between a club and sponsor in Europe!!
Thank you Fontein and have fun in Alkmaar :amika:

Yeah well, Martina is more of a right winger, while Poepon is more like a striker. Moreover Martina hasn't played at Eredivisie level yet, while Poepon has and has proven he can more than cope. Why do I have the feeling they rejected him just because of his name? :p

Talking about Fontein, anyone else think we should've offered him a job as financial/commercial manager? He seems to do very well on that part, getting big sponsor contracts isn't that easy when a club like Ajax misses the CL twice in a row.

Another three points against De Graafschap today (Y)

Klaas-Jan scored a H A T T R I C K and his 32nd goal this season for us and goal 100 in de Eredivisie! Congrats to him and what performance again :|

Great atmosphere in de Arena this afternoon, Heitinga played his 125th match in de Eredivisie and there was a huge flag with his face on it and in the crowd you could see a very big nr 2 (John's number)
4-1 when it could've been easily like 8-1 or something, Luis Suarez was awesome again and really deserved a goal too bad he didn't.

During the break Ajax said farewell to our headsponsor since 1992 ABN-AMRO.
Many legendary players were present during the break in Ajax outfits with all the prizes we've won since 1992 with ABN-AMRO on the shirts.
Bryan Roy, Danny Blind, Frank de Boer, Stanley Menzo, Richard Witschge, John v.d. Brom etc etc they were all there it was nice to see.

Interesting news from voetbal Insite (tv program) tonight:

It seems that Ajax will start a partnership/cooperation with ARSENAL, van Basten called Arsene Wenger and he's very interested and so is the staff of Arsenal.
And it could well be that Martin van Geel's days are numbered with Ajax, this week all will be revealed..

Here's an impression of today thanks to my buddies Oscar and Big T from Ajaxlife!

Update on Skysports:

Gunners consider Ajax link-up

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Arsenal could forge a relationship with Ajax from next season.

Marco van Basten, who will step down as Holland coach after Euro 2008 to take charge of the Amsterdam club, has visited Wenger this week.

The two discussed the possibility of a mutually beneficial agreement that could see players loaned out from Arsenal to Ajax.

"Van Basten visited us at the training ground this week," Wenger wrote in his programme notes for the Premier League clash with Liverpool.

"We spoke a bit about Euro 2008 and about Ajax, because he is taking over there in the summer.

"We spoke about how he wants to see the future of the club and how he wants to work there, and any similarities with our policy at Arsenal, and about whether they can take players on loan for example."
