Just heard that Aliadiere is getting a four match ban for his slap on Mascherano. Not a huge surprise, as in theory you hit someone you get a ban.

What's funny though is that he got three match ban for the raised hand and one match for a frivolous appeal.

What's even funnier is that the FA considers a slap in the face as way worse than a kick in a leg (Gallas) and tackles that can seriously injure players.

I don't know why the FA have an appeals procedure... 99.99% of the time players are literally p*ssing in the wind when making an appeal because the FA panel chuck it out, and then give a player an extra match ban to add insult to injury. Hell you even get more chance in a court of law.

OK, so Aliadière retaliated and that's seen as worse than the original offence but if he gets a ban for slapping, then surely Mascherano should have been punished for the initial grabbing of his face in this case? Once again, the FA and their excellent consistency... not!

Well thats par for the course with the FA. The most incompetent, weak, inconsistant and "heads up their own arses" football association in football.

We need to lose the old farts and get people in there who have at least played the game. Fat chance of that though.

This extra game for Aliadiere is part of an FA process to discourage appealing against red cards. The less appeals, the less that our refs look like the wankers they are.

FA are bunch of $hitholes, enuff said. They should be more open to appeals and reject them with more courtesy, i've seen more violent conducts that have been left out by the FA, yet a small slap can be considered more violent than a kick from behind. what a bunch of wankers. i feel sorry for Boro and Aliadere.

Yep, a little petulant kick in the last minute at 2-0 down which Knob Styles saw fit to brandish a straight red card for, despite the pleas of Everton's Phil Neville trying to tell the ref not to send him off. To me it wasn't even in the same league as Gallas on Nani, which went unpunished. No doubt if Petrov tries to appeal the FA would chuck it out, and stick an extra match ban on top.
