decided to dig this thread up for some all round nostalgia ...

Nike are going to release homage editions of World Cup boots seen at WCs from 1998 through 2010 ... I hope they're wide release, and not limited editions, because I want me a pair of indoor 02s!! :wootman:

speaking of Nike, Mario switched from Nike to Puma ... the interesting part of the story are the boots they gave him:

The Mecurial Vapor IIIs were the greatest that R9 exclusive colorway and the black/gold one were godly.

Fast Forward 02 Mercurials are officially out!! and just a couple of months after the homage campaign pics were leaked:

no R9 on the tongue (which would have made it closer to perfection), but at least they're not some pointless limited edition where only 10 exist in the world ...

Why do people in here? Do they buy boots every couple of months or do they find them sexy in footballers' feet?

I'm guessing that the ones who actually play football here buy them. But regularly nothing fancy like those.

Hey, you shouldn't judge people in that matter because you're the one who's very active in threads such as "the sexiest, most attractive footballer". Everyone has their own fetish. :nim:

P.S. Mine's are feet but it's not the reason why I... alright mine's are feet. End of story.

You guys are pretty hardcore football players. I bought a pair of boots in 2007. Still use the same but I only play like once or twice a year. :(

I have both, and puma and a few other brands like pantofola but on the whole I think I prefer Nike even though my favourite boot is the cops mundial

pantofola? classy! but how do they play?

my kitbag is stocked for outdoor, turf, or indoor based on the season, so I'm inevitably replacing one pair or another ... I preferred umbros while in secondary school (when we started wearing boots), but since college it's been all vapors and preds, with one pair of tiempos thanks to R10 ...

I wanted the original 2002 Chrome R9s so bad, but couldn't get a pair at the time ... I did eventually get a pair of the silver R9s he later wore, but it wasn't the same ... it makes sense for me to get a pair of the homage editions now (when I can), for the sake of childhood nostalgia ...

interesting news ... I had a pair of the Manias in Champagne colourway, which remains one of the best-looking boots ever made:

I'd have been keen on a re-edition pair, but it looks like they're only doing them in standard black, which is a damn shame ... it's therefore surprising that the Predetor Accelarators from 1998 aren't part of the remakes, because they are, IMO, the only predators that looked good in the standard black/red/white scheme:

The pantofola looked amazing, played great but had no Longevity in the leather, it wore thin and the red faded quickly and it had some splits even though I used dubbin on it almost weekly (had lazzarini Rossi's)

Interesting idea of a knitted boot but durability is really questionable.
