I was just going through my collection, and I have not made any recent music purchase this entire year. Moreover, the last things I bought - last year!!! 2009!!! - were some Desert Sessions, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, and Steve Vai albums I didn't yet own.

So I'm wondering if I'm just missing something? Is there a lack of decent music tv/radio stations that entice me to invest part of my wage, or is there just no decent music? I seriously hope it's a lack of stations, as I'd like to start listening to some new music.

Am I really this out of the loop? I did catch some registrations of Pink pop, Glastonbury, and Rock Werchter, but I can't say any of the appearances shown at those festivals were at all inspiring. Muse were no better than OK, Gorillaz - meh, Snoop Dogg was crap. Seasick Steve was probably the best of them all... That says something. I hope it's a reflection of the fact that there are no people at the BBC, VRT, and NPS, that know anything about music at all. The BBC T in the park registration was hardly anything more than Edith Bowman drooling over Paolo Nutini :coffe-anim:

So, give me some pointers. Tell me where to look. I don't limit myself to genres, I'll fucking take anything.

Goddammit, I'm listening to the Eagles right now. Please come home for Christmas... 8| HELP!

I did get their album, good suggestion, but it's almost a year old also, must be nine months since the release. There must be something after that, really.

I haven't downloaded much of anything in the last year either and I listen to hip-hop almost exclusively, so we're covering different genres. Not sure what it is.

I've posted about this before some time. I think the best way to find music is on last.fm.
Almost all of the bands I've been listening to over the last few years have been discovered via last.fm.
It's really important for me since I hardly ever watch TV or listen to the radio.

Oh BTW some 2010 suggestion from me I think you might like: The Black Keys, Beach House, Jonsi, The Tallest Man on Earth, Spoon, Vampire Weekend, Villagers etc. etc.

What do you have to pay for now? I don't pay for any radio stations on last.fm?
