I am not too sure if you can yet , because there is an Official update for the game already from Konami , but they are not releasing the update until the Official PES 2008 release date on Friday. Konami UK told this to me this morning over the phone(:/)

says 'no servers until 29th october' when i try to register for online play.
no direct IP AGAIN!!!
hope the patch fixes the comentry, i and many others dont get any!

commentary is MUCH better but the no ip really s ucks. Is there any chance of an IP patch....sick of playing on their servers for the lag. Don't get me wrong, i bought the 2 previous games but i think we're getting robbed when it comes to online play and i'm NOT going to buy this one if the online lags again.

Played it on PS3 online. It's cool, but really annoying when it starts to lag. Players go to kick the ball and about a second later, the ball moves in double quick time. I really hope the Konami fix this anytime soon.

Umm, you're not playing on their servers. All Konami does is provide lobby sistem for match making, when you enter the game it's all on your or your opponents connection. So sorry to burst your bubble but direct ip option wouldn't change absolutely anything in lag department.
