Are you a PC user that feels cheated?

If you guys would keep your tempers and vocabulary in check this could be a very interesting debate. It should be noted, however, that there are those who cannot just get up and buy a console, but need a PC, and the opportunity to entertain themselves with a game such as Fifa is just a bonus. If you can afford to buy all the latest consoles as well as a decent PC, consider yourself lucky instead of berating those who are unable to do likewise. A lot of you guys have a distinct tendency to be very rude when trying to express your thoughts, and you should really expand your vocabulary, or at least put it to proper use.

PC is and will always be superior to consoles because if you have the know-how you can improve the game in every area. I have owned the latest version of Fifa for the last 4 years and some years I owned multiple copies....and I payed my hard earned money for every copy. PC gamers are the most high brow and intelligent group of gamers there are. Consoles were invented to market to the MAJORITY of people who would game and don't have the know how to run games a the thousands of varities of OS and hardware combinations. A very small minority of people drive Lamborghini, but it is still the best driving experience you can have. PC gamer's who edit the game year in and year out are the consumers of the game that have the most connection with the FIFA games series and telling us that we should buy a console because we are behind the times is laughable. My PCs hardware is 6 months old and it runs circles around the PS3 in every benchmark test. You can be ignorant, which you are, but being ignorant and rude is intolerable.

You're right about people just wanting to plug and play, that is what I meant. Consoles are for people that want to plug and play. I can be civilized but there is no need to call me a moron, I am anything but. These forums are frequented by people who play the game on PC because they edit the game and find editing as much fun as actually playing. If you don't care about editing the game and if editing games is not amongst your hobbies then by all means play it on a console. This thread is a topic for PC FIFA gamers and about whether or not we feel cheated. I for one am perfectly happy with the new game as it is editable, if they had made a next gen version, it would have been a much larger learning curve for all of us to figure out how to change everything. I still have my FIFA 06 on my PC and it is better than the FIFA 08 demo because of the time I spent improving it. And lastly Keegan made a good point. I use my PC for everything, I work as an IT, I know alot about PCs, how they work and how to maintain them. I ENJOY maintaining them. I want every aspect of my machine to be designed or modified by ME. Buying a console is not a solution for my needs/wants, that is why there are many products on the market, because everyone's needs/wants are different. Since I would own a PC under any circumstance, it is nice to be able to have FIFA on my PC.

I use mine for business purposes,hi-fi, copying on to dvd from my camcorder and printing photo's from the digital camera etc.

Why buy a console when you can buy a pc.

Definitely to make it yourself. Buying all the components seperately from websites like Newegg.com and assembling them yourself. You can make an absolutly top of the line PC and save $500 or more.

I have my own laptop and a 360. So I have the chance to buy the next-gen FIFA 08 for my 360 and the PC's FIFA 08. However, I'm sure that I will enjoy more the PC's FIFA 08. Why? Because there was a worldwide community who does every year some stuff to improve the good and correct the bad from the PC's FIFA. That's right. Maybe PC was the ugly lady in the dance. Buy hey, even that can be corrected.

I know I will enjoy FIFA on 360, along with Forza 2, Halo 3, WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2007, TNA iMPACT!, among others. I hope I can have PS3 in the future to play Gran Turismo 5 and Final Fantasy XIII. But I won't stop to buy PC's FIFA and I'm very sure I'll enjoy it.

won't feel cheated if they dropped the price of the game to what it delivers. I enjoyed the demo to a certain extent. Like seeing the AI use Dinho's elastico against me with perfection. Also seeing Messi running around with the ball like in real life. Graphically, it's still the same. Don't know why they even put the Low, Medium, High quality level in the settings.

The game is very similar to '07 with some touch ups during release, and if that's the case they can't sell at a price of a full released game.

what it doesn't make sense if why they have so many different versions of the same game. why don't just develop fifa08 next gen for all platforms, less trouble, easier to develop and maintain, less bugs, etc.

Well by your logic, why buy a lamborghini when you can just buy the parts and make one yourself?

Also, just because you download and install patches for your PC game doesn't make you any better a gamer than somebody with a console. Even if you design some patches, it's nothing extraordinary unless you have created some of the tools that unpack and repack EA's fsh and other files?

And if it makes you feel better, it's possible to patch games on consoles. The console needs to be modded for that and I've done it putting my favourite team in PES and then winning everything possible with it on my old xbox. I know PS2 gamers have also done it.

Now tell me, how much does a Lamborghini cost compared to a regular car? How much does a high end PC needed to run a next gen FIFA game cost compared to an xbox360 or a ps3?

And what more do you get by playing FIFA on your PC rather than on a console? Ability to change the players' shoes? Big woop. I cared about that when I was 14 and now the games ship with brand name shoes balls and uniforms anyway.

What the console does though, is it runs the game on optimal settings and you get to play it on a large screen tv while most people use small monitors when playing PC games.

If it somehow makes you feel like a bigger man because you are playing your games on your PC rather than on a console, then I'm sorry.

P.S. have fun playing FIFA2005 with an 08 logo on your fantastic PC while I enjoy a truly new game on my crappy xbox360. But don't worry, I'll use this PC that's not good for gaming but can do everything else to tell you about how great the game is.

How many people that can afford to buy a car can afford to buy a Lamborghini? And who suggested that enjoying editing a game makes you any better or worse a gamer than anybody else? By your reasoning, the fact that I make boots for Fifa (since Fifa 2003) makes my hobby that so many people have found enjoyment in, redundant - since the game already ships with branded boots. No one would say that an Xbox 360 is crap, but that does not make the needs and requirements of PC users any less important. The fact is that EA's Fifa franchise was built on the PC and while it has grown to the dizzying heights of Xbox 360 and PS3, EA should remember where they are coming from. Console users enjoying Fifa does not in any way diminish PC users enjoyment of Fifa and vice versa. In fact, since I don't own a console, I don't even visit the console threads. The way I see it, you do your thing and I do mine. Games are about fun after all, right? No need for heated arguments and name calling.
