Most People Have Pc's Wich Can Handle A Next Gen Game.
Even If U Don't U Don't Need To Buy A New Pc, U Can Upgrade It.
I Mean they Could Make That U Can Choose The Graphic If U Want It Next gen or old gen

what it doesn't make sense if why they have so many different versions of the same game. why don't just develop fifa08 next gen for all platforms, less trouble, easier to develop and maintain, less bugs, etc.

ah btw what the **** is next gen i guess it is the same marketing bull**** term such as web 2.0 and the like :D lol

No. Watch a Fifa 2008 video for the PC/PS2 then watch a 360 one and you'll see a huge differnce. Not only graphicwise but the engine is completely different. Fifa 2007 360 engine was built completely from scratch. It's all about the physics. Sure, Fifa 2007 for the 360 was rubbish cause it was rushed, unfinished but you saw the foundation of the engine and how they can build on it for the coming 5 years. It's an outrageous physics engine that will probably be maximized in 4 or 5 years.

Sure , if you know what you are doing w/ PC's and are willing to spend the cash, you can have a great machine for gaming but I think EA and many other developers look at the mass consumer and plan accordingly. There are other issues also like piracy along with system requirements, etc. In the end, consoles offer ease of use with a long life expectancy for relatively affordable prices. also, in the end its not just about graphics and power but accesibility and user friendliness along with fun factor. Perfect example is the Wii, which is owning all systems out there now. One thing I love about PC gaming is customizations. However, I love my 360 and its online service is sacred and very social. Add the ease of use and great games and its an easy choice. Mac cost me $1,100, 360 cost me $400. That's $1,500 for my designing and my gaming. That's pretty good.

How many people that can afford to buy a car can afford to buy a Lamborghini? And who suggested that enjoying editing a game makes you any better or worse a gamer than anybody else? By your reasoning, the fact that I make boots for Fifa (since Fifa 2003) makes my hobby that so many people have found enjoyment in, redundant - since the game already ships with branded boots. No one would say that an Xbox 360 is crap, but that does not make the needs and requirements of PC users any less important. The fact is that EA's Fifa franchise was built on the PC and while it has grown to the dizzying heights of Xbox 360 and PS3, EA should remember where they are coming from. Console users enjoying Fifa does not in any way diminish PC users enjoyment of Fifa and vice versa. In fact, since I don't own a console, I don't even visit the console threads. The way I see it, you do your thing and I do mine. Games are about fun after all, right? No need for heated arguments and name calling.

You missed my point.

First of all, I don't think I did any name calling.

Second of all, the person who I quoted was comparing the PCs to driving a lamborghini and the regular people to be using consoles..

As for making boots, if you enjoy making them and people enjoy downloading them, then it's not reduntant at all. All I said was that this is not a significant advantage of playing the game on PC rather than console.

And I definitely agree with you, we should all do whatever we enjoy. You like playing on PC, I prefer the console, but in the end we are both happy.

it is annoying since the computer is better than the console, gives you more freedom and they aren't really that much more expensive. Look at games like crysis , just as good, if not better than console games, imagine what the pc games will be like in a few years.

Consoles are bad for fps and strategy which exclude 2 massive genres, how the hell can you aim with a stick?:|

I can build a great spec that could run easily all 'next gen' games for the price of the ps3.

Oh my! You can't be serious! Computers not much mre expensive than lets say, a 360???? $400 compared to lets say, $1,500 average?:eek::eek:
Consoles bad for shooters? Not the 360. It's excellent for shooters. I would say 80% of 360 games are shooters. We're taking games like Halo, Bioshock, Fear, Call of Duty 2&3, etc. that get excellent ratings ranging in the 9's!!!! Obviously, you don't know what you are talking about. I'm not saying 360's are better for shooters than PC, I'm just saying that they are very good. For me, they are perfect. The good ones of course.

Furthermore, if everyone is saying that you can build a PC to run great games (which is true) why b!tch about one game?? Go play PES (although I think it looks very last gen) or something that will compliment your PC!

I'm another one that will never buy a console.

Good for you. Enjoy PC's. Why all the complaining then? I'd never get a PC since I don't want to spend time installing virus protectin and avoiding crashes, etc. And fact is that Microsoft Operating Systems are horrid. They are in cahoots with the whole IT industry. If it breaks down = more money for everyone, from tech specialists to antivirus providers, etc. Yes, that's the way it works. Same with copy machines.

Dear oh dear Madridista.

You need counselling to get over this phobia of pc's ....

Regarding you sig, I have no idea

Perhaps I need counseling if PC's were the only machines out there and I was forced to use them. Most of the Departments at my old job used PC's. The IT guys would run around like crazy fixing all types of problems. They worked overtime like crazy cleaning drives, installing virus protection, spyware utilities, etc. Our department (graphics) rarely got visits. Only to install new versions of Indesign, etc. aside from that we would do all types of things, download all tps of stuff from the internet without a worry in the world and I do not remember one instance of a major malfunction on our systems. But, to each, his own I guess. One thing I will say is great about PC gaming is the customization aspect. Installing adboards, flags, pitches, etc. that's cool....if you know what you are doing.

You certainly aren't comparing like for like at those price points. I can't speak for US prices, but here in the UK a premium Xbox 360 system seems to be around the £250 mark (buying online) and for £400 I can buy (from a reputable online supplier - the same one from whom I purchased the 18 month old machine on which I'm typing this) a dual core Intel system with 1GB RAM, 250GB HD and dual layer DVD. Now that system almost certainly does not have as much grunt as the 360, both the processor and graphics capabilities will be at least half as powerful, but it includes a 19" widescreen monitor, gigabit networking, a multi-format memory card reader, twice as much RAM as the Xbox (I believe the default is 512MB), more than ten times as much disk space, and the DVD drive is a writer not read-only. Add to that the fact that the PC will be upgradable in the future, especially on the graphics front, and I really don't see that there is that huge a price differential (especially when you take into account a screen to plug the console into - not all of us have full-time access to a suitable TV).

I agree with what the thread starter was saying, when i bought my first fifa game for PC (fifa 04) that was because i couldn't be bothered to spend £200 on a brand new PS2, although i did buy one about 6 months later when the price dropped, but i realised that at that time, the PC blew away all the consoles on the market. I have bought only PC versions of Fifa since, simply because of the versatility of the PC.

A few examples:

1. If you don't like the music in the menu's/wanna listen during the game, you can simply load up a media player and play your tracks, recently i've taken to listening to international cricket over the internet whilst playing fifa.

2. If the graphics are rubbish you can simply upgrade your graphics card, with a console you have to wait for the next gen/ buy a rival console.

3. If the kits are outdated/unofficial you can update them and edit almost every aspect of the game, you can't with a console.

The main problem for me is that EA are investing big money in the next gen consoles, when really they are not selling well at all, sony have announced huge price cuts with the PS3 in America, whilst us europeans get extra rubbishy games for the same price, and i'm not really sure about Sony's claims that the PS3 is some sort of media centre for everything (internet DVD's Games Music TV etc.) because of the DVD format war going on.

I hope EA come to their senses and realise that they are taking big risks by doing this and when Fifa 09 comes around I hope to see a major effort by EA on the PC version, because at the moment I think they are putting more effort into the PSP, DS and mobile phone versions of the game, which frankly are crap!

I think you're a bit of a hypocrite...you HATE PC's and yet you do use a Mac. Before saying that Mac's are not PC's hear me out. A Mac is also like a PC except it just has different software installed on it. Wheter it's better that can be argued for another day.

And man, what is your problem with viruses and installing virus protection??? Why do you keep saying that all PC's are good for is to get attacked by viruses???? What was the experience you had that has made you so scarred for life? Buddy, it's simple, if you don't want a virus, STOP GOING ON "FUNKY" (that's the word...:D) WEBSITES!!! And stop crying about viruses!!!!

Btw, Mac's are not immune either. Sure, they get far fewer viruses than PC's but they still get some. Bud, it's that time. Stop visiting P*rn.

Btw, sorry for this offtopic. I had to get this off my chest. Sorry. :D

The days of the PC as number 1 gaming system are over. The reasons for this are multiple. Its sad, but true. Im gonna get myself an PS3 or 360 sooner or later. Anybody who wishes to play games on next generation levels, will have no choice, but to do the same.
