Argentina vs. England {P & R}

Although i too would rather see Campbell over Rio,Sol has made his fair share of blunders too over the years.nobody can be perfect all the time.Sven needs to play Terry with one or the other of them. Not keep alternating them. How the hell are they to form a solid understanding like that. All the attacking wing play down our left side from Argentina, showed how un-ready Bridge and Rio were for this game.Argentina made so many schoolboy passes to the byeline and fooled Rio and Bridge every time.Still,Nev and Ash will be back soon so that will be sorted and by the time the WC arrives,Bridge will be match fit too.Pleased to see Rooney remain composed throughout the game, thats a good sign.He was immense today.

well done england, we are such an underrated team and noone hypes at anytime, it is going to be so easy to win the world cup now, i reckon we'll thrash every team on the way and then put 10 past brazil. Easily the best squad in the world and now we have proven it by winning this more important than life friendly. give Sven a 20 year contract NOW!!!

I couldn't care less what Sven does when we score mate.So what if he dont get as overexited as you would like.Good Managers need to control the adrenalin and passion because those emotions for a manager, during a game can contribute to bad decisions on his part.Do you wanna see him run up the touchline waving his dick every time we score? You sound almost dissapointed that England won man.Lighten up and dont give yourself such a hard time.

I think Pekerman has it out for Aimar, I don't know..he refuses to play him...Maybe next time we can put in Aimar instead of Roman?

Or blow away Crespo and Saviola, and get Román to play with both Aimar and Messi, it could be possible even adding Tévez, now that would be insane. Say something like this.

----------Abbondanzieri
-
--Coloccini---Ayala---Heinze/Samuel/G.Milito
-
--Lucho--Cambiasso/Demichellis--Sorin
----------Aimar-----Riquelme
-------Messi
-
------------Tévez

Tévez+Messi= Infinite free kicks.

Yeah maybe having all them 4 is too much maybe dump Riquelme and bring Crespo or Cruz.

This match also shown that if the europeans defend like England did(and not all the europeans are England most are below them) then the they should get serious about reaching the box, the rest could be a piece of cake, also this match pointed out that the defense system must change. Guess this match commited its purpose after all.:)

Sorin's handball wasnt intentional? Are you fu/cking blind? Tevez and Sorin got fouled a lot? Yeah if you call someone walking behind you a foul...

Anyway, great game...Better result

i actually would have loved to have seen that handball go in at that point of the game. Would have been funny and made complete fools out of the argies, wanker.

Well done micky Owen, a famous victory!

can some1 tell me why the fu.ck ferdinand is starting over campbell? there is absolutely no way ferdinand is better... physically he is but he is always always always out of position for the other teams goals. terry also has positioning problems, while campbell is much much much less prone to being out of position. i just hope sven is smart enough to know that come WC time

I'm sure you tried to be as unbiased as you possibly could. Didn't work, did it? :p

I'm surprised no one's mentioned this yet. Just read in the paper that the UN envoy for Sport, Adolf Ogi, will talk to the Argentinian FA after their players allegedly sang anti-english songs in the dressing room before the game in order to bate the England players. So much for the game being played in the right spirit.

did Argentina start with their best lineup? If so, great job by England to beat them.

Not their best, no. A strong side, nonetheless. Riquelme was tearing us apart, at times.

Just as Rooney was tearing their defence to pieces too.Dont forget, without our first choice full backs we were made to look bad at the back at times. Also the position Ledly King is playing is something we have only recently started to experiment with, and he was responsible for Riquelme having so much room. That will be sorted out before Germany .In fact in the 2nd half Ledly began to get a better grip on the guy,so it's looking good.I would say that we actually had the weaker of the 2 teams.
A match is NEVER over until the final whistle blows.Argentina will at least learn that from this game.

By the way ,the match was held in Switzerland not Argentina.

no penalty for Cruz because it was not a penalty. You could say that England had a better call for a penalty in the first half. That was not given either.Trying to win a game in the last minutes by diving is pathetic, whoever does it.
