Argentina Vs Jamaica (Friendly)(Obviously)

Mar Del Plata - Jamaica leading at present, 1-0. Header by Ryan Johnson (who?) from all of 16 yards out, deceived the Argentine Gk. I kid you not.

Based on this result, I'm assuming Maradona is still in charge? I was hoping for a Jamaican upset to embarrass him further..

Yeah they are crap as a team, but have got some class players + Messi. Maradona is useless but the squad, potentially, is better than Brazil (the big favorite) one for example. Dunga managed to make a very solid team over any individuality.
Would not surprise me if Argentina reach the semifinal or final.

Messi --> Best footballer of all times.

In 2002 Argentina had a great squad for the World Cup and were tipped to do well, what happened they got knocked out in the group stage. With Maradona at the helm i think its a ticking time bomb.

The Legend
Maradona is worse at managing than he is at dieting.

That said, brave effort from what's been a beleaguered Reggae Boyz side in recent years.

If my Gk did not suck so badly, I think we would have won that game... we will never have as good an opportunity to beat Argentina again. :(

More like madness interspersed by a couple of good saves! I think the moment must have gotten to him, because that is by far the worst I have ever seen him.

Jamaica would have won this game if it wasn't for their keeper. I seriously lol'd when I saw everything he did:rofl:

Argentina is a shame. They will choke along with Spain.

With Maradona in charge, I don't think so. You can combine all the class players in the world but if they don't have a good manager to lead them properly, they're about as useful as rookies who just started playing the sport. They gave the job to Maradona too early, they should've waited for him to gain experience first before rushing on giving him the position, it will cost them dearly in the World Cup and almost did at qualifiers since let's face it, they were lucky to qualify when they had taken down Uruguay to qualify after the embarrassing 6-1 loss against Bolivia, a poor 3-1 loss at home against Brazil which they should've done better at considering their good squad and a poor qualifying round in overall, considering their squad. I doubt Argentina will even pass the group stage, despite the fact that I believe it is a pretty easy group. However, if Argentina had a proper manager to lead them, I could definitely see them going to the semi-finals and even to the finals, but most certaintly not with Maradona. Don't think Italy will pass as well despite it being an easy group they also got, but that's another story. Brazil and Spain are probably most fit to take this one, but there could be surprises along the road. I'm personally hoping for either Germany or Spain to take it this year.
