For me it was like that all day Monday, but I tried from various IPs with the same result, which tempered my initial paranoia (which matched yours). There were problems with various EA UK web sites at various points yesterday, so I reckon they had an issue of some sort, but all was back to normal this morning (Tuesday 23rd)
